$540 a box for what amounted to a rookie class that was somewhat poorly received is not a good idea. Not sure if it is Panini driving that price or somewhere else in the supply chain, but that is crazy. I'm not even sure what rookie-patch-auto would bring you that price back in resale value? Maybe only a handful if that? I would assume people are going to start saving for next year which looks to be a better than normal rookie class plus who knows what other products will be coming out this year like they did last year?

I'm surprised the price of this is that high especially since they are probably doing Flawless and Immaculate again. Nope, nevermind, this is Panini we're talking about. I shouldn't be surprised at all.

It doesn't matter $540 or $600 or $700. People are buying group break. For these people they are thinking extra $10 for the spot is nothing. And that's why Panini only needs to make a product that keeps group break happy. Price for individual box? Not too much to think about.

I always have doubts over 'game worn shoes'.
I've seen thousands of auctions for them, and there's no way to tell they're legit. Unlike jerseys, it would be too hard to photo match them. Style match, yes, but whoop-de-do, so they wore something that looked like them. Any current players should be fine as they can obtain them easily. Retired players, I'm guessing they'd get them from all the auctions I've seen and been unconvinced of, mostly due to lack of any proof other than someone's opinion. Guess it goes for any 'relic' card now. Collect it for the look, not the promise of what's in it.

shoe cards are a good idea, hopefully the designs are good. i would never pre-order this until i saw what was in it, at $510-$540 or whatever i would avoid it altogether, but i would wanna see how many single jerseys they put into these boxes. nt is really solidified now as their 3rd ranked product. no comparison to immaculate and we'll see how they do flawless this year. hopefully this doesnt get delayed and then that produces a ripple effect of delays for immac/flawless.
oladipo, giannis, mcw will probably pay for a box, i dont think anyone else would that i can think of offhand. burke would be close, i dunno who else. |

They probably put a massive amount of Logomen in this set to try and justify the price.
As had been said in earlier post (hate to admit it), group breaks will drive the price point higher and at least sustain it at this level. Group breaks (which I will probably enter a few) are going to be horrifying on average. If this years NT is $550 a box, I cringe to see next years price….Probably $750 |
