Default Even if you write Fragile, and ship Priority

The USPS treats your box like this.

Cost me a few bucks!

Looks like they tried to purposely ruin that box. It should be insured up to $50 or $75 depending on how the postage was purchased. Sorry dude.

Purchased through Paypal. I sent an email to usps10@paypal.com, and I asked my recipient to file a claim as well. Will keep you guys updated on what happens, if anything.

Amen to that. I've heard quite a few horror stories regarding USPS in the last month or so...
Been concerned whenever I have anything sent from the states recently

That's rough. What level shipping was used for that?

I am of the firm belief that what type of shipping used doesnt really matter anymore. Marking fragile is like an advertisement for them I think.

I do like the longer flat rate legal envelopes they are a tremendous improvement.

Oversized cardboard is the way to go.

Again blaming a whole company for the actions of a few people.
But then again the only thing that matters anymore at the post office
is the Amazon deliveries. That's how it is in my office.

I've been told that if the USPS didn't actually stamp it "fragile", or "do not bend", that whatever you write on the package is disregarded, and most the time, not even read. I guess the stamp makes it official.

Where can I buy one of those stamps? The same make, model, ink color as the USPS??

I have one, but it's out of ink, and I'm not sure it's the same one they use though. I need to buy a new one, so it would be awesome if I could match theirs.

I think I'm getting these stickers instead of stamps this time, it's a lot of work writing FRAGILE and DO NOT BEND all over a box when you're shipping 20-30 packages at a time. Especially when trying to fit shipping into small amounts of time and they clearly ignore it anyway, maybe the stickers will be an improvement.

They have the stamp set on USPS.com. The website is currently unavailable for me or I would link you.

Just do what I do and ship your books like this. Your customers will be in awe as they think about what could possibly be in the box!

I'm surprised to hear about the post office ignoring writing the Fragile label on it. I asked them one time if it was okay, and they said it was. The stamp that they use has small letters, so I don't know how that would trump a hand-writen bold label with large letters.

I switched to using boxes from Walmart (11 3/4" X 8" X 4 3/4") over a year ago and have had 0 issues in the last year. They are only 58 cents a piece. I fill the extra space with crumbled pages from Previews.

I wish they sold those boxes at my Wally World

My personal favorite came this past week. Seller sent me some books inside two pieces of 1/8 inch thick plywood or so in flat rate envelope. That's a first for me in over 10 years of shipping.
