It wasn't too bad considering what pieces go for. Lucked out really as I snagged it the week before it was going w/ JSC to SDCC a couple years back. If it had landed at SDCC there would've been zero chance.

Here's a sketch he did on a blank Avengers #1 cover that i got as well.

For those that know me, know I keep fairly quiet about what I own or collect. Most of my pieces aren't even up on CAF (comicart fans site) despite some of my friends urging me to post them up.

Anyways the older I get the more I realize it's not bravado to share art. It's about sharing great art that means a lot to each one of us, hence this thread. Sorry for the sentiment today! I'll also apologize for the length of this post.

I've always tried to buy a piece of art from any book that really hit home with me. As a writer, I tend to enjoy more of the independent stories out there. I'll keep the best pieces of my collection for last!

The Goon: Love this page and found it great that "Die" was hidden in the clouds.

Have always loved Terry Moore, here's a sketch than an original cover & pages to Rachel Rising:

Who doesn't love Batman, so saw this page years ago and had to have it:

"Y The Last Man" is one of my fav' book series, and never really could afford a cover but do own about 15+ pages. Pia's work on it is great. Here are just a few:

Fell in love with Chris Mooneyham's work as soon as I saw it, and well I do love Five Ghosts. Was very lucky to have gotten this cover.

While doing Moderns here, here's a PP cover that I love:

Bedlam pages:

Sandman is my fav book of all time. I call it a book as it is literature. Again never really could afford a McKean cover as they are upwards of $20,000. But here's a special page for me, it's the last page of the Death series "High Cost of Living". Framed and hangs in my office.

James Jean's art always struck me in Fables. I was lucky enough to get these offered to me years ago, and at the time I really could not afford them, but they were too good to pass up. I'm pleasantly surprised at how well his art sells now a days for, as I could not afford these today that's for sure. The second cover is my personal fav' piece I own.

As for these, well these are the best little "investments" I've ever made. Both were purchased in 2009 in one purchase, and wish I had bought more!! The Walking Dead cover I may not own very much longer, as I have such a high offer on it I think I have to let it go.
Walking Dead 63 and Chew 4 covers

And here's the cgc book that goes with it, signed by Kirkman, Adlard, and both creators on Chew since it is the flip book.

Thanks for reading!

Very nice..My friend from my Kent State Univ. years, grabbed 10 pages of ASM #1 original pages back in the early 90's..Wish I had em now..I have no art. I love looking at it, but haven't been able to afford any myself. I love the artwork you all have. My turn is coming this year.
