I think this will be my first and last high end hockey purchase. The plate is worth maybe $10? The Elias/Arnott goes for less than $20. The Holmstrom goes for $5. The Winnipeg card might fetch $20?

On top of that the Martin Brodeur redemption is not going to happen. His agency lost all his cards from this and like three other Upper Deck sets! So I had to describe to them my favorite players so they could send me an equivalent redemption (ugh by Beckett standards). Oh, well, I guess that's the best they could do and it's not really their fault.

I really hope my redemption card is an autograph ... this was a lot of money for three autographs ...

The Cup is a great product but would highly recommend against single tin busts. Only way it works is if your a lucky SOB. The Brodeur HN Auto dual patch /31 is a great hit $120-150 and they should pony up something nice for it, Winnipeg patch trio may suprise you at auction, last one went for $92.00. The dual enshrinements are an amazing hit but the Arnott/Elias dual auto is literally the worst one, it's superbad $20.00 card. You got around 240-280 SV back which isn't terrible given ... at least I hope you paid $400-450 for the tin

Well, for those of you interested, I just returned from vacation to find a package from Upper Deck awaiting me. It took me a while to comprehend what I was looking at as I looked at the card first thinking a mistake had been made but then saw this letter:

I feel incredibly lucky as this product was over a year old when I called them for the replacement. When I had said which players I would accept as a replacement, I basically quoted many if not all of the entire Wild and Capitals roster. I did make it clear that Nicklas Backstrom (Capitals) is my favorite active player so I guess when they selected the replacement they took that into consideration. This is what is being replaced:

And this is the beautiful beautiful beautiful replacement (in my eyes easily ten times the card I would have gotten with the redemption):

This is only my second Ovechkin auto (I paid an arm and a leg for my first) and my fifth Backstrom auto so this hard signed card is very warmly welcomed!

In collecting so very rarely do I get to express my gratitude and appreciation towards a company. Topps has let me down so many times in Baseball and Nonsports that I can only say: Hats off to you, Upper Deck! I'm sorry if anyone has had a negative experience with them in the past but I think you can agree this replacement goes above and beyond.

Well if it was me i would be dissapointed, u should have gotten a patch auto card as the redemption from the start but if ure happy thats fine.

I too would be disappointed. A dual patch auto of the best tender of his generation numbered to less than the replacement. But it's all about what you like. Happy you got something you wanted.

Yea verily, his auto is careless and of turdburgler proportions. But, keep in mind, it's most likely a Russian autograph -- is Brodeur's autograph of Killebrewian proportions?

I'm not a huge fan of Ovechkin -- I'm more enthralled about Backstrom. But I have probably been to ~30 some games that he's played in so ... it's nice to have a second auto of his (my other is from the '11 Winter Classic which I was also at).

It'd be senseless to get into a Brodeur Vs Ovechkin/Backstrom argument so let's just agree to disagree
