Default Should I sell many cards in order to buy a case?

My Dad and I have been waiting for a while and even planned out buying a case or two.

I want to create a thread in Baseball B/S/T and sell many cards to buy the case, I was planning on buying Finest but we might change our minds, So should I sell some cards to buy this case? Also will you guys help me out a fellow baseball card collector and purchase some cards? I heard that busting a case was really fun and want to break one myself. My Dad and I will split the case so all I need is $350 about. We will probably sell most cards we get in the case to buy more boxes and cards. Can you guys help me out here? What should I do?

Please comment and thanks a lot for the help!!

P.S. The Thread for B/S/T wil be posted today

Disclaimer: I also buy wax, and boxes.
But, your asking for advice, so here's mine.
Here's how your plan more than likely will go, sell $350 in singles, split a Finest case, sell the contents, recoup about $150 of your $350, buy more wax and cut your value in half again.
Here's my advice, sell the $350 in singles, (or trade), use $150 on blowout for wax, (free shipping), spend the other $200 on singles you want. You'll get some thrill of the gamble, and also get some actual value from buying singles.

Love the people who say buy singles, when the kid wants to bust wax.

Its not a good investment to bust a lot of wax....But if the dude has an itch, let him rip it.

I myself have been making some good money buying lots of cards & selling them individually, but won't cut anyone out of the fun of opening boxes, just for fun. As an FYI, I wouldn't bust any older product for flipping purposes. Next thing to make money on is 2014 Topps Series 1 or Opening Day.

So why bother with the case if at the end of the day you'll end up with less money to buy "boxes and cards." It's like saying, "I want to spend $800 on boxes and singles but first I want to throw away $350 or so...is that a good idea?"

If you try to flip a case of Finest, you will most likely end up with less money than when you started. So if your ultimate goal is to buy select boxes and singles, just buy those boxes and singles. Cut out the case in the middle.

If you just want to bust a case of Finest to bust a case of Finest, have fun! But just say so.

People think busting wax is a good investment, sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't. I rarely get $300-400.00 cards out of wax, and unless you're someone like brentandbecca you can't make money off of wax. Have to open 3-4 cases or more to get a decent return on a new product.

IMO busting a case with your dad will be priceless, wether or not you recoup your money from it. So go for it, but don't worry about making money back from the case, but focus on the memories and good times.
