And your basis on the ACC being better than the big ten have no facts to back it up. |

as for the acc being better than the big ten, i just named several teams that i think would dominate the big ten...didnt say the conference was awesome, once again this is MY OPINION...we will never know exactly though because ohio state doesnt play the top teams. I am not a fan at all of them... But FSU is going to beat Bama and shock a lot of people.. They can flat out put up the points!

Stanford LOST TO FREAKING UTAH! WTF are these computers thinking putting them ahead of an undefeated Baylor team. Thank god this BS goes away next year.
And SEC Bias my behind. Explain how 1-Loss Oregon and Stanford are both ahead of 1-Loss Auburn and Mizzou.. |

Stanford lost. I know they dominated the 2nd ranked team in the country, but they have a LOSS. Baylor does not have a loss. |

Just some food for thought.
Ohio State Non Conference - Buffalo #42 SDSU #72 CAL #99 FAMU N/A Florida State Non Conference - Florida #53 Nevada #101 Idaho #112 Bethune Cookman N/A The simple fact is that to date Ohio State has played a tougher OCC schedule then Florida State has. Is Clemson/Miami/Maryland really that much better then Michigan State (assuming Big-10 Title game)/Wisconsin/Northwestern? Maryland and Northwestern were both pretenders. I'd take Wisconsin over Miami. Clemson might be better then Michigan State but are they that much better? I'm not saying this to diminish Florida State - I'm saying it because it's an absolutely joke that people are giving FSU a free pass to the NCG and saying Ohio State hasn't earned it. The ACC is no better then the Big-10 and FSU has played a worse OCC schedule even though that's what everyone bags on OSU for. Florida State has earned nothing that Ohio State hasn't earned if both teams win out as expected. It should be a legit discussion - not a cake walk for FSU - which is what everyone tells us.

Some good points. Alabama has also a very weak OCC schedule. I just wonder if its possible ohio state could pass FSU if michigan state keeps winning and clemson loses to south carolina? Thats assuming ohio state beats mich state.

Are the computer algorithms publicly available?
Does the SOS calculation only consider the opposing team at the time of the competition, or do subsequent results play into the strength of that team? i.e. A certain powerful team loses four star players in week two. Does the team that played in week one get credit for playing a tougher team than the team that plays them in week three? That is hypothetical. It isn't referencing a certain team. This also would impact a team that beats an undefeated team. That team is no longer undefeated. Does the first team to beat them get more credit than the second team? Every human voter uses a different logic and there is likely no way of understanding it. The proprietary computer algorithms have a certain reason and design, but is that published? |

Guess after seeing NIU fumble their chance last year in the Orange Bowl I am hoping a bigger named team makes it to Glendale (maybe Baylor vs Oregon/Clemson/Auburn) I know bowl/conference alliances will not allow my wish to come true Heck, being from Chicago, I won't cry if NIU headed out here |
