Default Thoughts on bowman chrome retail?

I had a itching to rip some bowman chrome. Since no card shops are open at 7:00am, I hit up Wal-mart. All they had was 2 value packs so I scooped them up. I ended up hitting a Joan Gregorio yellow refractor /10, Roberto Osuna Auto Redemption and a Jurickson Profar Green Refractor Rookie card. Not to shabby for retail.

With the draw of the yellow refractors and auto's of Puig/Myers/Olt/Gattis/Profar/Ryu, it seems like retail isn't to bad of an option this year. What are people's thoughts and results of ripping retail?

I rip alot of retail and have pulled nothing of note in about 5 boxes of Bowman Chrome. Up until the chrome releases topps blasters have been great this year

On a side not I have busted 3 blasters of Prizm and pulled 2 autos #/25 and several other decent parallels

OP quit while you're ahead! It's like doubling your money at the casino on a given day.

It's always seemed to me that Topps likes to "front load" their retail stuff, meaning the first couple shipments or whatever.

Well I've not busted any Hobby, but have busted 3 blasters from Walmart. 1 was absolute crap!!! However the second had a cron blue min /250 and a base auto of Rafeal Montero. The 3rd was an all x-fractor box with a yellow 4/10 dustin geiger and a base auto of Andre Reinzo. I personally think that there are decent case hit's in blasters, but odd's are against you.

Interesting thought. Probably not what I wanted to hear because I have a feeling a trip to target today was just booked. Hehe However, I do realize odds are against me.

I think we did see that on Platinum football the early boxes were loaded, then when stores got more in they went downhill.

It's hard when shopping with the wife to overlook the card rack. I know I will come up empty, but it's so damn convenient and ripping is so much fun. I've been strictly hobby for a month now.

I know it's a small sample size but I bought one blaster at Target yesterday and pulled a gold auto of Miguel Andujar so I'm not complaining.

Hadn't really thought about it but of course if someone offered something good on it. Not really sure on the value.

I have had better luck with retail than hobby this year. The seven racks have yielded two autos, a couple blues and a gold mini. Thinking of staying retail on this one

Retail can be awesome weeks down the road for almost any product. I remember when 2011 Update 8-box retail cases were selling for $200 in February after that year. Spent my tax return on several cases and the code cards alone covered half the cost. This was before Trout blew up (hindsight is 20/20) but wow imagine if I had the patience to hold some of that stuff. Still made money though. Couldn't go wrong at a $100 investment into the cards themselves.
