60-70 for a box of TNA cards seems a little steep for my taste. I'm thinking of just buying blaster boxes of this set as you'll get more autographs this way (assuming blaster boxes don't say get one autograph or memorbilia card). Are there any differences in autos in blaster boxes though? I wonder if the majority of the good autos go to the hobby boxes.

Hobby autos are numbered, & retail autos are not.

Sounds like your distributor is expensive. I saw one where the seller was clearing $49.00 per box (and another was only clearing $50.86) after fees for doing business on a particular venue were factored in. It was a solid seller who does lots of business, so I see no reason for him to sell at a loss on a pre-order, which means his cost was well under $49 per box. Anyway, it isn't too hard to find the boxes for under $60 (or under $1,450 per case), but that's still too much for what you get, in my opinion.

I did pick up one seller's last 6 boxes at a relative price to the lower price in the paragraph above (not on Ebay), and it appears that's all I will be buying this time around.

Stinks since I like and enjoy the TNA card releases (along with feeding my case busting addiction), but when prices go that high and the value drops, I just can't see sinking money into the product like I have in the past.

I'm probably holding off to. I'm betting as soon as boxes come out they will be jacked up just like the Knockouts were. I saved money for some Revealed boxes an they kept messing with the dates. When they finally got out boxes were jacked up like like $20 and I tried with no luck on getting them to take just alittle less for multiple boxes. I said forget it and glad I did considering what I bought them for when finally got them was almost 2 for 1. I bet these will shoot up near $100 a box after the release for awhile because of Hogan, Flair, Van Dam and Hardy. When the big sellers start selling autographs and memorabilia out of it cheapo. I mean letting some of them go at 99 cents prices will drop. We can then buy some at decent prices for our PC's and sell what we don't want without getting kicked in the junk as bad. Good Luck on opening!

Ill get in on a box or two....then depend on ebay for my main wants. Wait till the prices cool off a bit...then snag a few more.

Yeah, there are some autos on Ebay, but none of the big names other than an RVD. I'm wondering how many Hogan & Flair signed. Tristar says that only 2400 boxes were made, & there are few different Hogan autos. The odds of pulling a Hogan should be decent.

Im thinking the same on Hogan.

I think that guy just busted retail because Id think he'd listed some event worn or parallels etc.

Good point, I didn't think about that. Now we know to stay away from retail. It looks like the good autos are in hobby.

Yes, they are retail. They are all silver and not numbered. So they are definitely retail autos because all of the hobby autos are numbered.

With hobby boxes being absurdly expensive, retail isn't bad for under $20 each per box (1 auto) if someone just wants autos or to put a true master set together and doesn't care about the numbering.

I doubt I buy any retail, I'll take my few hobby boxes (hopefully they come in today) and move on to another release.

I thought retail didn't release until next month. I think it's somebody using stock photos to presell autos. He's probably busting a few cases and is speculating on the autos he'll receive.

Stock photos of people like Doug Willams? Pretty doubtful.

Also, it doesn't state "presell" or anything like that, so his DSR's would be in for a rude awakening if that was the case.

There's a retail case of 30 boxes up.

There's a listing for sets that state "in hand" as well.

So it looks legit to me.

Looks like someone broke a hobby case or two, as there are a bunch of hobby autos/relics/parallels listed now.

Got my boxes about an hour ago. Will list the breaks either tonight or tomorrow and upload to Ebay tomorrow. Best hit I got was either a Velvet Sky swatch auto (red #'d to 25) or the Quad auto of the Beautiful People (Velvet Sky/Madison Rayne/Lacey Von Erich/Angelina Love) green version, #'d to 25. Not sure what all I'm selling just yet, but I'll decide by tomorrow.

On another note, it's kinda weird how the colors aren't uniform. I thought I hit huge with the Velvet swatch/auto since it was red, but in the memoribilias, the red ones are numbered to 25 where as in the autos the red is numbered to just 5. Weird.

Ya they def need to work on having the parallels the same. In the first series (impact 08) the 1/1 for the event used where red???? go figure. Also it looks like someone already pulled some really nice 1/1s

This TNA The New Era is awesome. The cards look great and overall it was fun opening. Got a few Hogan autos but only one Flair.
