Well Puig is going to be a good player but his current .485 BABIP is unsustainable. Will he be more valuable to his team than freeman this season? I doubt he will. Puig is due for a regression BA wise and his K rate and walk Rates won lend its self to a huge OBA.

I Like Puig alot he is exciting, however in 156 plate appearances Puig has hit 8 homeruns and has 8 doubles with 1 triple 19 rbi's and 27 runs scored. Freeman in 344 plate appearances has 9 hr's, 19 doubles, 2 triples 60 rbi's and 49 runs scored. The comparison here is that a little more than double the games played Freeman has as a middle of the order bat drove 3 time the rbi's more than twice the doubles, 7 times more walks and less than double the strikeouts. Other than BA wjere is Puig better than freeman?

For a comparison if I told you that player x had 156 PA's and had the numbers of 8 hr's/8 doubles/1 triple 19rbi's and a batting avg that is helped by an unsustainable BABIP, 7 walks, and 36 k's. Or would take player y that in 183 PA's has 14 hr's/11doubles 37 rbi's a batting average hurt by a .252 BABIP that should rise closer to .290, 14 walks, and 44k's

I would take the player Y. That player is Evan Gattis, he has more power, a better walk rate, a better K rate, and is serviceable at three position Catcher, Left Field, and First.

The Whole point is Puig has had a great start and he has phenomenal tools to play the game but he is not even the rookie I would want AB with the game on the line. But this is Just MHO.

Major factor IMO. I go to a few Rangers games every season but only night games early/late in the season. I would much rather watch a game in the comfort of my home vs. pouring in sweat just sitting in the heat.
