that is what I thought.

If he can be anything close like Richards and man the 2 or 3 line as a center, that is a great pick

IMO Steals and Reaches:

Steals:
Forsberg 11th to Washington (could be the best player in the draft and the second-best Forsberg in NHL history)
Grigorienko 12th to Buffalo (good thing he got mono last year because he's going to Buffalo and the ladies up there well...)
Wilson 16th to Washington (Mike Knuble clone, could put Knuble on LW, version 2.0 on RW and wear out defenders)
Laughton 20th to Philly (Could be a captain quickly if Giroux or Jagr can't carry the C)

Reaches:
Reilly 5th to Toronto (I guess Schenn or Phaneuf will be available at the deadline)
Koekkoek 10th Tampa (injury worries)
Subban 24th to Boston (injury concerns and they have Rask so why?)

The amount of hatred Pens fans have for Philly and Washington fans is amazing! Round 2 already over!

Nice write, although I would be 100% shocked if Parise doesn't sign on July 1st with the Pens.

I would be more excited than anyone, but I just don't see it. He would be giving up more money, fame, playing time, and leadership by going to Pittsburgh, and the Devils just finished two games shy of a title. I don't see what he really gains unless he truly thinks that the Penguins have a much better shot at the cup than the Devils. Anything is possible though. Anyone else feel free to read the blog story and comment here or there with your opinions.

Default Draft Coverage

Cardboard Connection Radio (which Blowout is a sponsor) was at the Draft. We captured video footage of all the first round picks (except Yakupov who was kept busy with National media) you can check out all the video footage on our YouTube Channel and catch one of our LIVE shows with interviews from Keeper of the Cup and Hockey HOF curator Phil Pritchard, 7x Cup winner Bryan Trottier and Sabres pick Jim Vesey here.
