Default Some help with a Jim Bottomley Prime Cuts Booklet...

Hi everyone,

I was hoping someone could help me out with a card I recently pulled during a group break of a master case of 2011 Prime Cuts Baseball. I pulled a #1/1 Jim Bottomley (St. Louis Cardinals) cut auto/ bat piece booklet. I can't find too many cut autos or cut auto cards of his to compare and quite frankly there isn't too much of his stuff out there period. I was trying to determine if his stuff is hard to come by and an approx. value of the card. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Paul

Sorry, I can't help with value. I was curious if you read up on him at all? He has some pretty neat claims to fame...

He set the Major League record for RBIs in a single game, with 12, on September 16, 1924 (since tied by Mark Whiten). Bottomley also holds the single-season record for most unassisted double plays by a first baseman, with eight. "Sunny" is also known as the only man to be sued for hitting a home run when a fan was hit by the ball when he wasn't looking.

awesome stuff there

I pulled the Jim Bottomley cut auto out of prime cuts in 2008.

It was a 1/1 and sold for approximately $800, I believe.

He's not an easy autograph to obtain by any means, but not one of the highest demand or rarest either.

I think you can use that quote as an approximate value, it really depends on the quality of the cut and card itself.

I would say somewhere between $600-$1200.

Congrats on a great pull!

Thanks for the kind welcome and information. I'm expecting the card in the mail by mid week and will post a pic as soon as it arrives! Thanks. Also looking into the acrylic booklet display cases that I saw on EBay ($15.00) to put the card in.

Thanks again for the help!
