Default 2026-27 rookie card class discussion

The NBA “experts” call this class loaded.

But what about the NBA card collecting experts?

Will team uniform matter?

There may be some stars in this draft, but is anyone gonna be “hobby good”?

Peterson and Acuff will probably be hobby darlings once games start.

Uniform won't really matter as much for Peterson but Acuff's situation will probably play a role (basically as long as he doesn't go to Sactown).

Caleb Wilson will be one to watch long-term. Tons of potential.

But I mean realistically they will all be like hitting lotto tickets if they gwt pulled early on.

Im hoping my Hawks take Mikel Brown, or Brayden Burris

Any of the top 4 guys that fall to the Bulls will be pricey. Unless he absolutely sucks.

I don’t see why Wash wouldn’t go with Boozer for several reasons, spacing AJ will be difficult with Davis and Sarr clogging the lanes, AJ shoots an ok 3 but Boozer is the superior mid-range / 3pt shooter looking at %’s, and AJ could care less about defense. To me it seems Boozer would be the obvious choice, better shooter, better defender, and would fit their spacing. Having Sarr C, Davis PF, Boozer SF, Trae PG, Bub/Bilal SG, that lineup would be a beast on interior D and Sarr/Boozer are athletic enough to defend the perimeter when needed.

Good points! So that means the Wiz could trade down 2 or 3 spots, right? I'm sure Dybantsa and Peterson and maybe Wilson will have the most hype around them?

people saying this class is loaded is true but are also kinda casual, because so was last years, and wembys year. I would have to say this has been more hyped than coopers because of the number 1 pick discussion, but what separates this one from Coopers is the top 4 guys Wilson, boozer, peterson, and AJ are all number 1 overall picks in different classes.

My concern for the Bulls is right now Caleb Wilson looks like the guy. Super athletic but needs to work on actual basketball stuff like shooting range and making FTs.

If it works out, this town is big enough for two Caleb Ws. But I'm worried he could be the next Chris Wilcox.

That being said, I could see him wowing teams during workouts so maybe he leapfrogs Boozer. Wouldn't mind Cam in a Bulls uni. Either way, Graham is in a great spot his first year at the helm. He basically just picks whichever of the big 4 is left.

2 years straight ..don’t know if there is any standouts maybe stokes at #1 for 2027 but that team needs to trade the brow to get him.

I don't follow college basketball but I would love Cam to fall because a few guys that I follow love him and think he's the best prospect and because now we'll get random Boozers screams from the crowd every game. GRAB DAT CAM

Graham is in great position, he pretty much needs to focus on #15 to find the best fit with this team.

Cameron Boozer to the Jazz or Bulls would certainly throw up a nice opportunity for a dual auto card or two with his Dad.

Every draft is the next big draft. I see a few potentially good players. There isnt one clear great player. As a Duke fan, I dont think Boozer is going to be a very good or great NBA player.

I'm a lifetime die hard Tar Heel fan. Been watching them since Eric Montross was in the paint dominating everyone. With that being said, I don't see a superstar in Caleb Wilson. I think he will be a very good player, but I do not expect him to dominate in the NBA. I also do not see Boozer as a superstar. I think there will be a mid-1st rounder that outperforms everyone above him. I do not have that player picked out, I just have a feeling about this draft.

Card clectors will overhype all of these guys just like every year.

Unlike the Flagg, Wemby drafts of the last few years there’s no generational prospect.

Peterson is going to disappoint so many people, Dybantsa is RJ Barrett reimagined, Boozer seems underwhelming. And Acuff is going to be the worst defensive player maybe ever.

I don’t see any superstars at the top of this draft

This is where I am as well. Kon's shooting and movement were elite NBA skills at Duke and Cooper is well Cooper. I'm not sure what any of these top 4 do that is truly NBA elite with the way the NBA is emphasizing shooting. If you want to hang your hat on anything with Boozer its that he's shot 39% from 3 in college, so he should be good in the PnR given his basketball IQ and passing.

All 4 have paths to being good to great in the NBA, but all need to put in a ton of work.

It’s not just being basketball skills great in this hobby, but also superstar heavy.

Is anyone in this class really going to match Cooper or Wemby in terms of being hobby good?

In my opinion, absolutely not even close.

The more I see Wilson, I can picture him having a hot start hobby-wise.

Dude looks to dunk on everyone as much as he can. If he start posterizing people for a big market team like Da Bulls, he'll get a lot of hobby love until ppl realize (again) that there's a lot more to basketball then dunking on ppl.

I could absolutely see him being a hype guy at draft time. I would highly recommend selling everything before games start though. Hype and reality are not always connected.

Seems like a really solid draft 1-15. I'm excited about it card-wise.

Peterson's ceiling is super high. Looks pretty iffy that he'll get there based on this past season at Kansas, but I'd like to see him in an environment where there is some possibility of floor spacing before writing him off.

He’s just got to lay off the drugs.

I’m a lifelong die hard North Carolina fan since Frank McGuire was roaming the sidelines and I’m on the opposite side and see Caleb being the best out of the class ..he got a high motor , looks like he wants to learn , be the best and plays with a chip on his shoulder ,. Sucks that he got hurt in his fingers /hand late but in a way glad he did cuz I was glad they got rid of Hubert and got a real coach to coach my fave team ..

As far as a middle round guy , I can see koa peat being that one that surprises depending of course where he goes

Agree. Solid class but not one big time superstar. Peterson might be a head case.
