He's a lock for 500 home runs even with a lockout next year imo.

Having said all that I actually missed his home run. I was looking at the computer and forgot he was due up, lol.

Two things remain the same:
1 - Trout is a very good baseball player 2 - Angels are a very bad baseball team

Speaking of the yankees, trading for him would be enormous. Trout, Judge, Bellinger, Rice, that's a tough core right there.

Trout is owed ~ $160M between now and 2030.
Typically you get prospects or salary relief, not both. If you’re the Angels which do you prefer? If and only if Trout maintains that 1.000 OPS in late July can you consider both. IMO For a contender well, “flags fly forever.” |

Mike Trout holds a full no-trade clause in his 12-year, $426.5 million contract with the Los Angeles Angels, which runs through the 2030 season. This clause gives Trout total control over any potential trade, allowing him to veto any move or approve specific destinations.
Trout ain't going nowhere, like it or not.

He has become a slugger who has good speed on the base-paths who walks and scores a lot. His hitting with runners in scoring position is not desirable but performing better than the previous seasons.
At one time, he was MONEY W/RISP, in the last 4 partial seasons : 46-212 .217 with hardly any power. He reaches base effectively but he use to drive in runs. Last edited by Stifle; 05-04-2026 at 08:38 PM. |

If Trout wanted to leave he already would have. I hope he gets traded but I don't see it happening.

Trout is having a good comeback season.
He might have even given himself some trade value, given his contract, injury history, and decline. It's a definite high-risk situation for whoever decides to trade for him.
