I also have not picked up any JRods in a long time.
If he ever figures out how to start hot, he might win an MVP and get back into the top tier hobby conversation. I'm not holding my breath though. Another boring 6 WAR, 130 OPS+ season is the likely result again. |

Chris that’s a great looking patch card!
I bought the 2023 Topps ssp “Swelmet celebration” a couple of days ago. I’ll post when in hand. There’s one more card I think I’ll eventually add, the “Anime” from his 2023 Topps X JRod Show set. After that I think I’m good and have the more special/interesting JRod cards. Go JRod and Go Ms

I genuinely thought J-Rod was the future of baseball a few years ago. Hits bombs, has mega charisma, had the IT factor. He had it all to be the new face of the new wave of players with Corbin Carroll, Bobby Witt (who still rocks out), etc. Just can't seem to get a full season out of him, and last year with Big Dumpers epic run would have been the perfect time to make it happen and push the Mariners into genuine contention. Maybe we'll see a turnaround and he'll be a genuine all time great, but at the moment I just don't see it happening.
