First order late that I've had not due to upcharge. Due date is 29th, still in assembly so I know that isn't happening. Value plus order. Other value order been in assembly for a month too. Maybe they really are having an issue sourcing slabs.

SGC 8.5 not even good enough for a PSA 8. There goes $330 down the drain.

SGC 8.5 = PSA 6 or 7. In general it's 1-2 grades down. Same with BGS.

You just learned an expensive lesson. Crossovers rarely work in SGC slabs. Odds are slightly better with BGS label with subs. Even then, the slab has to be scuff / scratch free otherwise they can’t see the card and will just pass it off.

Yeah, that might be the last time I try to cross an SGC slab. The slab itself was very clean. Maybe the card just didn't warrant an 8. It did have a couple of soft corners with a little whitening on the back. Owell, live and learn!

edit: yep, grader notes were "corners: wear, multiple on back". So at least it wasn't a "slab was too scratched to even grade" case.

Meanwhile my mid-December drop-off with May 16 estimated completion is approaching 4 months in grading status.

There really is no rhyme or reason to it. Member "Itcouldbe" and I posted in the previous page. They submitted the same level, the same number of cards but a month later. They spent like 10 days in assembly. Me 2 months. They entered QA before me. Just crazy.

Not saying they'll make it, but at least yours isn't due yet. It's definitely a downer as you watch the days tick by after the est. completion date.

Meanwhile my other value bulk sub I dropped off 2 MONTHS after the above sub with 6 July estimated completion is currently in QA checks. I don't know if my 16 May sub having some TCG cards in it is the reason for the hangup???

I love how they have named their various tiers with the word, "value" - kills me.

Going on a month and a half in Assembly for my 1 card order. So they are right on track with their est July 2 date for a card submitted early march. When it flew through Research and Grading within a week I was hoping they had finally gotten their crap straight but guess not.

The inefficiencies that PSA has in their processes is just mind boggling. I bet if PSA ever hired someone to come in and do analyses of their current operations and offer recommendations for improvement (and actually implement their improvements) their bottom line would get even better. Maybe they should hire the Bobs.

It'd be nice to get some additional updates to let us know where exactly in the process our cards are. Like if it's in grading, maybe add some more updates like "in queue for grading/started grading/finished grading, in queue for assembly"...something like that to add a little more clarity. Would just take a couple clicks for the grader/assembler to do this.

It could be even more stream lined than that. They could have a barcode system that whoever is touching your cards, would scan when they start/finish that piece of the process. That would then send the update to your order as to where your card is in the process.

I half expect that if anyone was ever to visit the PSA operations, there would be someone peddling a bike to generate electricity for the building.

So, I had a brief back and forth with Nat on X. He basically is saying that they don't have enough graders. Everything gets held up in Research and ID because of this. He added that grading is not easy and a lot of people they bring in don't pass the training.

When I asked about orders getting caught up in Assembly I got no response.

I had sent a card at Value Max, but now it says Value Max 20.

Does that mean something?
