700B (Hand on Helmet), US1C (Batting), US1B (white jersey), 138 Gold Minted, GG-1 Global Grandeur.

First four are ~250 PR. GG is ~25. I'm a sucker for rookie year and 2023 WBC.

↑↑↑ That is a grandiose Global Grandeur True! Is that a Foilfractor 1/1?

These are my non-auto top5:
1/1
Pitcher Perfect /75
Photo /75
Patch 011/100 & 004/100 (patches are actually limited to 1st 11 copies)

I can't read and saw it as non-#d. That's the unnumbered GG.

Nice low serial #s!

I see. So they don’t necessarily need to be #d, just low PR

Of course you would be one that actually owns your top 5 favorite

Edit: Oh wait. I meant top 5 favorite even amongst cards you might not own. But knowing you have a vast collection, you probably do own your favorite top 5 (not counting superfractors/reds).

Oh, I thought that you were asking the top 5 non-auto numbered cards that you yourself own...

I didn't realize you were a big gold minted fan. I don't think I have even seen you post that card. But I agree its an amazing non numbered Ohtani RC card...especially in hand! I would like to pick up the 3 flagship SSP cards at some point to help round out my collection.

PSA labeling F up? This should NOT be labeled as a chrome card?

Maybe you guys would have more information on this, but does the Ohtani Auto from 2020 Topps Archives Snapshots even exist?

The only evidence I can find of it is this Ebay Listing Stock Image.

I've checked ebay sales in the last 3 years and all of the grading pop reports. The only registered copy is through PSA with a grade of 8. I've checked CGC, Beckett, SGA and they all turn up with nothing. I've dug through old forums and just about every youtube video on these and absolutely nothing. No mentions that one was even pulled. Was Ohtani's auto just quietly omitted from this set?

The amount of Ohtani autos is going to be insane by the time he retires...and even then he could keep on signing.

he (and Cooper Flagg) must already have at least 10x the amount of authentic MJ signed CARDS, right?

Yup great point, same for Ichiro.

His early autos look nothing like his current autos.

Collect the early ones, flip the later ones.

Imagine if he were to suddenly opt out and no longer sign, demand would be insane.

If I were going to buy an auto it would have to be his old style 2018-2021ish. I can't see those going down in price even if Ohtani signs millions of cards over the years. Trout would still seem to have more autos correct?

Perhaps the oddest baseball culture in the country. Haven't been there since 2007 but awesome stadium. Drenched in historical aura.

I think the days of guys signing for years and years after retirement will only apply to players that are mediocre after this era retires. The salaries in baseball are so much higher now than they were 15-30 years ago. Any HOF who played prior to the 1990s CBA never made the FU money likely they do now. I think Ohtani is a genuine person, but I can’t see him signing into oblivion like the 80s and 90s HOFs do. The scale of wealth just isn’t the same. More recent guys like Ichiro still sign despite have high earnings, but even he’s usually an SSP signer in products. The days of HOFs signing at the levels of Carew, Molitor, Fisk, etc etc are over. All that being said, I’d still rather be buying his old signature style than his modern. There’s always the chance he changes his signature again…

Also keep in mind, many of today's players are much more in tune with their "brand" than earlier generations. They know what their auto is worth and are more strategic on where to sign.

I don't think that is true at all. There's a million stickers signed per year now. 100x a decade ago.

Ohtani doesn't need the extra money but I don't think money is the sole motivator for him either.

Not to mention, Ohtani already put out a signed book (not too many professional athletes, current or past, have even done that).

To me, Ohtani is like a Curry. He might never sign as much as the late 2010s but I don't think he'll stop signing either (once again, not because he needs the money either).
