Yesterday, I opened 3 hobby boxes again, after having opened 6 boxes with nothing but red prism and pink, so 9 boxes in what I think is a fresh case at the store, these are the pulls from the 3 boxes:

Monster hits Kobefan! A nice break from the usual pinks and prisms in this set. That Cap color match PMG is so, so nice.

Yet another “opened my first hobby box, how did I do?” post on reddit, this one with 2 greens- a green PMG Apoc and surge vc Loki. Someone make sense of this haha.

Must just be insane luck…but oddly is a typical sort of post on reddit. I swear most of these boxes just have lasers and prisms when I open them. I do blame UD’s poor collation a bit, 2 greens should be spread out and not jammed into a single box. Great for that poster though

I have never opened or seen any breaker opened 2 greens in a single case, let alone in a single box, maybe the dude was lying? I do agree there is some sort of collation problem with this set. A dude on FB opened 20 cases (same guy as the person who posted the fake golden treasures) and pulled 9 greens when they are supposed to be 1 in about 5 cases, means someone else is going to be screwed with lower chances of pulling a green.

9 green PMGs or 9 green + emerald + emerald VC? Odds of the latter isn’t as bad, maybe 1 per 3-4 cases. So hitting 9 with an expected value of 5-6 isn’t that big an outlier

I guess it’s possibly lying but the poster was also asking about the Apoc/Warlock error which jives with knowing nothing about the set and just testing it with a first box. It’s not uncommon for bigger hits to run together- like a PMG + a lava in a box…but 2 greens is rather surprising. What a first box if he is telling the truth- probably like $3k worth of cards for $199.

I saw the post on FB.….yep same guy in connection to the fake golden treasures, which never got any hobby closure as far as I know, and that fiasco was swept under rug rather quickly. As for the greens…I get a slightly better ratio of getting a green, running some numbers- close to 1:3 cases, which means 9 in 20 cases is beating it but not by a ton I guess.

We estimated somewhere hobby print run was 175k boxes, or 9722 cases. If we are including all green sets there are 300*10 = 3k greens (ok 2980 since no base emerald warlock or Apoc). So that comes out to one green in a little more than 3 cases. Unless the 175k hobby box number is way off, but that was thought to be on reasonable footing)

It was 9 greens as in combination of all three green sets. Yea seems to be a little closer to 1:3 cases for that (the math above works out to 1:3.26 cases)

Here's the highlight of the 9 boxes I opened, btw, something seems strange with the packs in this case, a few packs have 3 cards and a few have 5 cards, and the one with the Jean pmg has 6 cards in it.

Sweet Green Thanos Kobe . I like the White Queen Gold too! They're such nice looking cards in hand.

It doesn't really get any better on the 2nd break, if I'm seeing(guessing?) what you got correctly, haha. Is that the Jean Gold PMG? You say Jean PMG, and it's obviously not the Red(with the red right next to it)...it doesn't look blue or green...only one choice left

Congrats, if so...that's a massive card. Hopefully it'll stay in the PC or be sold to fund the PC. If you do sell it, an insanely large BIN is the only option you should consider. Jean collectors are some of the more "serious" collectors in the Marvel card world

Thanks, I think that Thanos green pmg is the best card I have pulled from this set so far, better than wolverine red pmg or lizard vc golden treasure.

As for the Jean Grey card,its not a gold pmg, it's a green pmg, I would love it to be a gold pmg 1/1 though. It's probably because of the store lighting that caused the confusion.

Definitely doesn't look green...until you really stare at it, haha. Towards the top I can see it, but the bottom definitely looks gold! Either way, it's a monster card. Don't be surprised if its value is at least vaguely close to the Thanos

Sounds like you've had fun opening and you did well, odds wise, hitting 2 Green PMG's(of better characters too) in less than 2 cases. Congrats on that

It’s actually not a bad deal at all considering what even common purple crystal vc’s go for at this point. It ALL comes down to whether you get a purple vc in the case or not…pretty much the entire value proposition hinges on that, and that alone. If you get one, that purple vc plus the other 19 base purples, not to mention the small stuff like blue traxx should handily pay for the case, and more some. If you don’t get a purple vc…then it’s a sizeable loss for sure.

And what are we estimating purple vc’s…like 1 in 2 cases…1 in 2.5 cases maybe. If so, like a big ol spin on red/black at the roulette table. At that price…it’s worth it to me …I went in for 2 cases plus 7 extra random loosies (still wonder if lossies are the way to go)….wish me luck! It’s dumb, dumb, dumb, considering opening wax is not the way to go about finishing off this purple vc set. But with so few singles hitting the market, feel like taking some chances.

There have been very rare reports of 2 purple vc’s in one case…that would be the dream scenario.

Good luck to you as well! That is a tough one picking between the two. Knowing me….if I ripped one and it *doesnt* have one…I would be very tempted to rip the other, instead of leaving that question in my mind. If you *do* hit a purple vc in the one you open, it makes it so much easier to leave the other sealed.

I don’t generally rainbow cards but made an exception because I really like the Namorita art. It also is one of Jusko’s fav in the set (at least he’s said that at one point).

They look great in those mags...where did you find those? Or is it AI or something...haha. My eyes seem to be playing tricks on me. At first glance they look like red/blue/green magnetics, but the more I look at them...the more they look like the color was added

Thanks! Your eyes arent playing tricks on you haha. They are colored magnetics. They come in green, blue, red, perfect for PMGs. They also make a gold but of course I don’t have the gold PMG
