Default Fanatics Collect

I've dabbled in this platform and can't be the only one that thinks it is incredibly strange.

just to be clear I am talking about the auction/marketplace side. Not the breaking side.

I won't support it - we've all seen what Fanatics has done to the hobby. Last thing I would ever do is support their direct breakers to continue giving them more money and enforcing the belief that hobby boxes need to be pushed through an exclusive in house group. Screams collusion.

I should've made my post more clear. I am talking about the auction/marketplace side. Not the breaking side.

What exactly is strange? It’s the best auction platform hands down. Took them a minute after the PWCC acquisition, but they do a great job.

For me the website was horrific during auctions last year, hopefully they improved it. Pages not loading properly and lagging. It is also a strange thing having Burbank on there. You have to go through a lot of low end clutter. There shouldn't be $1 cards on their site.

This is part of my issue with it. Nobody wants those garbage cgc authentic slabs. You have to sort through so much trash to find good stuff even when you filter psa only.

And I feel like most of the buy it nows are pretty much flippers so it is pretty hard to actually find good deals on stuff.

I also think it is odd that they charge you a higher fee if you list higher than the card ladder suggested price.

They don’t charge you more to list higher. They charge you less to list lower. It is to encourage sales. 6% is hard to beat.

My only gripe with it is that their link to Card Ladder does not always work. Too many items with no values or wildly incorrect values.

Yeah don't use any of their suggested "curated" prices or links, god knows who's doing the curation but anything with a couple of sales might as well be pulled out of their ass. It's a lagging indicator to begin with but it is easily 2-3 weeks out of date at least by the time your item is put on sale. I only use the auction side so once you get used to a workflow you can more or less allow the rest to fade into the back, as long as you're on desktop, that is.

Their app interface is trying to channel traffic towards BIN pretty hard, and doesn't really work that well for quickly finding what you want. Merging the breaking platform into the Auction and Fixed Price platforms is not even feature creep but the feature koolaid man getting up in your face and it makes the whole app worse. The desktop version oddly have gotten better on the seller's side conversely, and I'd stick to that. Pricing info is clearer now, payouts are more predictable, I've had nonpayment rates dip below eBay's lately. BIN listings for ridiculous prices are on every platform (and it's laughable to think that they'll change the wild overpricing of listings to something that isn't delusional, even if they threaten that). More than one flipper have straight up lost money on a card after buying it from me at auction so god knows what they're thinking, but hey, it's a free country and you are freee to make bad business decisions.

I do laugh at a lot of the listings I see that say "great deal" - most are not great deals

Again another site that has nothing that I'm willing to buy.

One of these days I will find one for me.
