It started with a mega box of 2025 Chrome, then singles off EBay for their Mint series, then my one and only Chrome hobby box where I pulled a super rare card I was able to sell that paid for the box, then onto Pixar Gold singles. I’m super excited for the D70 set as this is my first time getting in on a Topps release from day 1, and there’s huge nostalgia draw for me with Disneyland.

I too have 4 Disneystore boxes ordered (first one scheduled to arrive today), and then three hobby boxes from the initial presale. Topps has an alert I just signed up for where I’m assuming they’ll release more product on the 13th. Good to know I can order up to 7 more hobby boxes and say hey, that’s totally normal! Ok, maybe just one more…

Now that the exclusives are sold out online and maybe at the parks.

A few sales for boxes in the $240s on eBay.
10k boxes is on par with other Topps exclusives like sapphire.

Also plenty of sales of pre-sale hobby boxes in past 24 hrs.
I wonder if those who missed out are buying thinking they are the exclusive version.

There was a lot of damage to the various foil cards from his box, which is something you'd be reasonable in thinking that Topps would have figured out how to avoid by now.

I still can’t figure out how to tear off a piece of foil for cooking and not get a scratch or crinkle. I’ve been cooking for 30+ years. It’s Disneyland man, I can take a private car there and have private security with me all day long, and still go home with Covid or the flu. It is what it is, have fun about it

Thankfully the cards were flawless in the one box I opened last night. These were the best two, but honestly love them all. The only downside is opening a box goes way too quick.

I mean the product is effectively released at this point and sketches can be pulled in the Disneyland boxes.

Doesn't matter - we're not supposed to share finished sketches until they give the OK. Otherwise you'd see all the artists posting their work.

You can still go to Dollar Tree and get a roll of aluminum foil for $1.50 and try and try again. These cards are $15 a pack, which is a high price for non-sports packs even these days. Hopefully that damage isn't widespread. A few of the foils Graham pulled did look pretty clean, at least.

As for the sketch reveals, Topps/Fanatics/Disney themselves, one or more, should already have a full gallery of these particular sketches online. This is not a normal sketch set. Look at the huge value the 2003-04 Upper Deck Disney Treasures Sketch cards instantly attained, and accrued from since. Official Disney sketch cards are a rare thing, and will remain so, even after these have all been found.

Not really a fair comparison as those were ridiculously hard to hit, and I believe all done by Disney animators? No matter how good the new sketch cards will be, those will always command a premium.

Ya, I pulled an unnumbered Ariel and thought cool but nothing special. Now see someone is asking $150 for it.

More like 150 of the base autos - there are over 150 parallels, and the total count per characters is more like 300 per

The really crazy sales are the 17 individual packs sold for $50 per delivered. Seller does have a deceptive image, but can't think 17 people were fooled by it.

I wasn't so much comparing anything but rather, pointing out how rare official Disney character sketches remain, even after this release. I had a Disney Treasures Series III Dumbo sketch I sold for $1,000 about 10 years ago, and an exquisite Tinkerbell from Holiday Treasures I sold in 2006 for $800. Those sales took place well before people went nuts with money. The value on those sketches has probably increased somewhat in the meantime, but even so, some of these brand new base card parallels will sell for more than even those sketches would today, which is fairly insane.

Wow, I've never even seen one in person, and you owned 2!

Yeah, pulled them both myself, too!
The Disney III Dumbo was in the actual pack, but the Holiday Treasures Tinkerbell was a redemption card that was an actual blank sketch card with a sticker on it with the redemption details. These were the days when if you got a redemption, you would have to telephone it in. I found the Holiday Treasures Tinkerbell redemption about 1 month before it was set to expire, and they absolutely did not redeem expired redemptions in those days, so I got in just under the wire. It was beautiful, detailed full-color and I was thrilled to receive it, but it was only half-mine, due to having split the cost of all those Holiday Treasure Gift Sets (the only way to get the packs) at a Kay-Bee Toys outlet store, so I had to let it go.

The Disney III Dumbo was mine alone, and I got that maybe 15 years ago. I kept it for a few years, but a person wrote me and asked very nicely for it because they wanted one from each series, and showed me the two they already had. They offered $1,000, which seemed fair, and I wanted to add to their collection, which became this.

Not sure if they still have them or added on, but wow, the Series 2 Lisa Temming Ariel is an absolute masterpiece. I have a picture of more of her cards. She delivered, big-time.

Coincidentally, the people who bought my Dumbo also had a Tinkerbell from Holiday Treasures, so that's exactly the design mine had, but I have to say, the one I had, by Dorota Kotarba-Mendes, had a significantly more detailed drawing on it. The owner of that card may be a member here. I'd love to see their collection! They had $800 to drop on one sketch card 20 years ago, which wasn't common, so who knows what else they got.
