Really nice OPC Clemente and the HOF collection brings back great memories of those players!

Just got this in. I plan to give it to my wife's uncle as he collects vintage and shared that he wanted to buy this card for his collection (during a family gathering party last month) but said it's a little expensive. He doesn't care much about condition, he's a true collector and has some good stuff (doesn't sell from what I know, also enjoys buying Topps Living Set cards).

But yeah, he kept talking about how Thorpe is the greatest athlete ever, having won gold medals in the Olympics and playing multiple professional sports.

I learned something that day!
Well, after picking one up for my daughter's uncle, I decided to add one to my own PC.

Just sent payment to another local for the card below. Now I'll own a Thorpe too!

Got this at the end of last year. I love this set but the centering and skews are typically too off for me to take a chance on. Anyway, I didn’t want to post until I was sure it wasn’t trimmed. Just got this back from SGC a week ago.

I have always stayed away from qualifier grades as a personal choice, but could not pass this beauty up. Was searching for a low grade 50 Jackie with great registration on the image and this one is exceptional!

It was a Mickey Monday. Bowman is going to look sharp in a SGC Authentic holder.

Recently acquired a 1951 Bowman of Neil Berry to go along with my signed index card.
Berry served in the military Army Air Force as a PE instuctor from 1943 to 1945.
He was an infielder from 1948 to 1954 playing for the Tigers, Browns, White Sox and Orioles.
An odd stat for him was that he had 1087 at bats in his career with no home runs.
He passed away at 94 in August of 2016.

Had a great time at the West Coast Card Show. Definitely recommend it! Only picked up two cards and stayed within my $1000 budget.

It is hard to tell with a blurry photo of the card in a top loader, but it looks good to me.

I personally wouldn't buy it unless I could touch it. I never trust cards like this that are perfectly centered and have very clear dark lines and sharp text in locations when it has this aged look. The separated T202 Triple Folders Cobb and Johnson look fine.

My first card since November. I've been working on a team issued photo set instead but I was happy to add this one to my 1953 Topps set which is still very much in the early stages.

I saw this card and thought it was interesting for the time.
I didn't buy it even though it's relatively cheap and in great condition. Less than $5.00 including shipping.
It's from the 1953 Bowman Television and Radio Stars of NBC set.
If you read the back, he is a 10 year old child actor who is an avid baseball fan.
"Favorite hobby at the moment? - Baseball trading cards."

To be that kid in 1953 would have been awesome!
Wonder what he had accumulated as a 10 year old...

He started in that show in the spring of 1951. With income off of his acting, I would imagine he had complete sets of 1951-53 Topps and Bowman. If he was a typical kid, he would have collected until 1958 and then his collection lost to time.

It would have been awesome if he had kept collecting, buying every Topps set from 1951 until he passed when they originally came out.

I picked this card to rotate in and out of my display. The card looks pack fresh with typical lack of centering.

Mantle doesn't have very many good looking cards. 1954-57 and 1966-70 are fixed in my display. That only leaves 1964 amd 1965 as possible years for Mantle and now I have both years.
