Got pretty much skunked.

Did 4 packs three times.

A few flashers, but no PMGs or sketches, lowest #d hit was to /75.

I love comics - but this was $200 down the toilet. Could have bought some nice raw or graded comic books with that $$!

Hopefully lesson learned for me and I'll have self control to stay away, especially at $18 a pack!

I genuinely am starting to believe this is true. New releases where I’ve got on as it’s dropped I’ve always walked away with massive hits out of barely any packs..

I think it’s just the fact so many people open a product opening day vs any other day. The odds are still the odds and hits don’t pop up as much later because sales are softer. First day is always the best time to steal a hit by buying packs at random intervals.

Yeah prices are brutal and the average hit has very little value. I bought one box and some loose packs here and there. I could have put that money on COMC and picked up some nice stuff. My wallet needs a break!

Ha yep, took to COMC earlier, got a Gail Simone Creator Autograph signed card for $20, a little more than the cost of a pack.

She's written some great DC books including Batgirl and Birds of Prey and currently writes the Uncanny X-Men.

Going to scoop some recoups from box breakers chasing those high end PMGs!

Just post the big hits at $20 a pack and ignore the people taking a bloodbath around you. Upper Deck is a joke company there are countless ways they could add more value but screw that just increase production. Fanatics is setting the bar so high for scamming companies taking advantage of gambling addicts.

I don’t think UD is taking advantage of anyone with this set. We all know it’s a huge checklist with too many randos, but they pack priced it less than 50% of what Metal Universe Spider-man was on ePack and that set sold out in 3 weeks (granted during the heat of the COVID boom). Still, I think $17.99 is fair for this relative to other products you can buy.

I opened exactly 3 boxes worth. One box and rest multiple packs.

Zero PMGs for me.

Best hits were:
/175 lime green FX Harley Quinn and Deathstroke
Orange FX /25 of some random detective
2 x The crown prince of crime inserts
Creator autograph, nightwing (Scott McDaniel)
The Penguin Jambalaya (though off centre on the front).

I did hit a couple of nice Bane inserts/parallels - Arkham Asylum and Nemesis parallel

That was about it though.

I’m going to elite scan a glitter combinable on COMC to see how they look (image below is the generic bulk scan). What’s weird is they are saying this item is stored remotely but usually all the ePack cards are already onsite. Could be a cool parallel to chase. I like the glitter parallels that UD has done for other sets.

The Premium glitter combinables are the biggest epack highlight for me. Those cards are going to look absolutely fantastic in person. That Azrael art is one of the best on the set too, great card!

I agree! The Azrael image is taken from this cover that I previously picked up on Collect Forever.

It looks like all the numbered and/or "big hits" are on COMC proper, with the rest being stored off site. Jambalaya, Sketches, unnumbered autos, adventures and numbered are the ones I noticed were on COMC, the rest seems to be stored off site.

Cool glitter! I'm sure it'll look great with an elite scan

I tend to avoid most combined cards on COMC, but I might grab a few too. I just hate paying $20 for something and 6 months later it's $2. Which is the case with combined cards, a lot of times

Maybe you overpaid, probably, but I'll leave it at maybe. Every once in a while a combined card turns out to be "big". Kaleidoscopes are the last one I can think of that turned out well(Right? Those were combined cards from '92MM and not achievements?).

But if you look at the history of combined Metal cards with blacks in MUXM and greens in MUSM...boy, they sank badly. No one who bought MUXM blacks for any amount of money probably wants to admit to it and I'm almost positive I sold a 164 MUSM Spider-Man green for something ridiculous, $1,280~. I think the last one I saw did $400 or $500...but I did see a PSA 10 of Spider-Man 176 sell for over $1k not that long ago when I was randomly looking at the set on eBay, so who knows

Anyways, the glitter are fun looking cards...a lot better than the flat blacks and better than the neon greens from those sets, IMO. If I see them below a certain price, on certain characters, I'll grab a few as well.

True, but the number of parallels has also gone up. So the more desirable hits are fewer and farther between. Would be interesting if someone could calculate print run vs. Spider-man.

From what I remember those Spider-man greens had some pretty bad QC issues. And the X-men Metal blacks, what was UD thinking lol? Hate to say it, but X-men Metal was "Metal" in name only. The cards didn't look like the Metal cards we know and love. Huge let down.

There's not been enough on COMC for me to take the same photo with Batman Metal, but I think the /175's and the /250's are the parallels that have been added:

So, /250's and /175's were added and /50's were subtracted? I could be missing something. I am not on ePack anymore and I also didn't open any physical Batman. But yes, you'd be correct, the numbered parallels went up a ton. In the end though, anything on ePack being cheaper than Physical is a good thing. I have seen a TON of physical ripped via case breaks...so the market is there for the product to be ripped, I guess

I never actually had any of the Neon Greens in hand to say for sure. If you look on COMC though, up and ended, it looks like most are 8's and 9's with a few 7's and 10's mixed in. I'd say those are good numbers. Not everything should be a 10 but almost nothing should be whatever, a 5, straight out of a pack.

As far as MUXM goes, yeah, what a whiff by UD. The "PMG's" were flat/no foil, but some of the art was GREAT(#69 Wolverine, I'm looking at you...one of the best pieces of him ever made, IMO...but "ruined" by the lack of foil). With that said, Covid highs still hit that set...I sold a Red PMG set for $20k? $25k? Ouch to that buyer. I'd feel bad, but he also later sent me some damaged 2013 Retro PMG's in a trade and ghosted me when I tried to get that situation "fixed"... Karma
