Things finally seem to be stabilizing a bit with silver hovering near $90 and gold back over $5k.
I think we got a bit over enthusiastic watching those insane gains the last few weeks, a correction was inevitable.

Just looking back, gold only topped $5k for the first time just 11 days ago so it's actually holding really well and silver hit $90 just 21 days ago.

To put things in perspective silver started 2025 under $30 and if you would have said in 1 year it would be nearly $90 (let alone hitting $120+) most people would probably think you were delusional.

The swings are just so absurd day to day.

After that small rally a couple of days ago silver continues to get hammered, it's now down to $68. That's a $54 drop from the peak just 8 days ago.

I'm even happier about the timing of me deciding to sell a bit, but at the same time I can't help but wish I'd sold it all as I could buy it all back now and pocket a significant amount of money. Woulda, coulda, shoulda.

I see the gold silver ratio widening again as it closes in on 70:1, I may have to sell some gold in the near future and buy more silver again.

Edit: So I just looked at the buy and sell prices at the bullion exchange I use, and premiums are truly insane. For 10 oz. bars they are buying at $847.45 (they were buying at $1472 9 days ago when I sold) and are selling at $1019.33 (currently sold out), that's a premium of $17.20 Cdn. per ounce. That is absolutely insane.

What kind of spreads between buy and sell prices are other people seeing these days?

Silver is 85 usd per Oz + depending on what kind. Very limited quantity outside of a few 100z bars.
Plat is 250 over spot.
Gold was 5k ast coins bars.
I know them well enough and they said they had been flooded with calls but dont have/cant get enough to fill demand.
Its wild!

Damn, assuming silver was still $68 when you checked that is $17 US over spot.
Worse if you checked even a bit later as silver now under $66.

Ill call again tomorrow and see where they are at.
Normally they are really good about inventory but the dynamic could be local considering its alaska and our pop is so tiny.
I was just shocked when he told me they didnt have much and its hard to get physical from suppliers.

I also check reddit pms for sale and anyone close to spot is instant bind.
Wild times!
Going to buy some more platinum! Hopefully the 25/27 silver to 1 oz plat ratio stays the same and I can trade some!

They were up to 90-95 per for silver and paying 5 back of spot and still had limited supply. Plat/gold still 200-330 above spot.
A ton of people buying and only a few selling and 90% of it was for silver. I have looked on reddit PMS and yt and its the same story. People are buying even though the price is so far ahead of spot. Thje premium just like the swings are getting much larger. This mess has caused even more supply chain issues compounding the lack of supply? Insane!

Curious to see how we end up and what happens in March.
I am really torn on buying more platinum or cost averaging up on more silver to ride the GME squeeze rollercoaster.

I did well with a mining company stock. 30%, I’ll take that!

There are still big daily moves, but gold and silver seem to be settling down in a relatively consistent range.
Gold seems to be bouncing in the $4900 to $5100 range, although it was approaching $4850 at one point yesterday.
Silver seem to be in the $75 to $80 range with brief swings just outside that range.

I'd be happy if they stayed in those ranges for a while, I have no plans to sell any more in the immediate future.

Silver having a great day. Is some of it due to the Iran thing?

I think it might have been the BLS (Bureau of Labour Statistics) revising the job numbers for 2025 way down.
The numbers went from 584k jobs created down to 181k, a 69% drop.

Not exactly a glowing endorsement of the "actual" economy.
