Raising and lowering prices happens. It always happens.

What doesn't happen is a company kills an entire "collectors club" program, which they previously charged $150 and added value for (grading vouchers, monthly specials that were good etc), and instead change the "collectors club" to "Hey give us $150.00 a year so you can get Bulk Pricing at THIS DEAL".

Then, without ANY notice, move the goalposts and completely change the cost and delete the ENTIRE VALUE of joining the Collectors Club.

S C A M SCAM

The ONLY world where this is okay is if they refund every single person who joined their Collectors Club over the last year.

It was literally their top selling point for the membership and had an exact dollar cost assigned to it. This is what their site said yesterday:

So apparently the ANNUAL BENEFIT of $18.99 per wasn't ACTUALLY an ANNUAL BENEFIT? Insanity that this is a real company. They scammed ALL signups.

Seems like the two monopolies Fanatics and PSA are basically saying this hobby is for us to make money and for you to lose money (but be entertained by your hobby).

Now you can save at least $160 compared to Value if you have a Collectors Club Membership. What a scam. They should at least keep the current $18.99 bulk price for current membership and apply the new rules on new membership or renewals.

I am no expert, but I don't think so. In the past there was a choice with both panini and topps...now there just fanatics (and upper deck for the hockey people). In the past there were multiple legit grading companies...now there is PSA (and CGC).

In the past wax was cheap to rip...now it is expensive. In the recent past PSA bulk grading was $15...now it is not.

Go look at 2025 Topps Chrome PSA on ebay. In january, I did a query. The only way people could have PSA slabs in hand is if they submitted at expedited service.

The types of cards being sent in are incredible.

This hobby is littered with regarded people. The entities at the top have no other option but to take the regarded money being thrown at them. I don't blame them.

yep, it is the next logical step when gaining a monopoly. Capitalize on it. I said this the last time PSA raised prices, they will keep raising prices until they see a dip in their submissions. If every time they raise the price $2 and still get 2 million maxed out capacity, than it just tells them there is more room in the pricing. $2 a card at 2 million slabs is another 4 million a month for doing nothing different. I would love to think they would drive that 4 million into upgrading SGC, but that would be a long shot.

I'm really struggling with this right now. I have about 6000 cards I was going to send in to grading. I have about 500 there with them now. Currently They cannot find one of my orders (149 cards) that was dropped off 11/29/25. They can't give me an answer as to where they are they keep stringing me along telling me they are looking into it.

I have been a big fan of PSA cards my collection is only PSA. I am torn right now. I feel like the hobby needs to send a message and boycott them completely. It will not happen but they only care about ripping off the hobby.

Truth of the matter. For starters, PSA has a conflict of interest by selling their own slabbed cards. I am not much of a conspiracy theorist however I have heard tales of people not getting the cards back from PSA that they sent in. Cards in a lower condition than what was sent. This makes the only option sending in numbered cards because you can actually document those. Sending in a numbered card genally equals an upcharge so PSA can hit you again on top of your membership. I cancelled my subscription today and I would suggest that all of you do the same. There was a time when you could get value out of PSA but that time is now past.

Nothing stopping them from doing it next month and the month after.

It will change if their economic model falls out of equilibrium. Perhaps I will be wrong, but I think this price jump is going to end up being a bridge too far.

The huge gain for PSA this year has been pokemon I believe. I also thought sports cards went down.

The amount of bulk sports cards sent to PSA I think will go down.
