Rules have been that players traded across leagues in the offseason can not be kept in either league

Players traded into into a league during the offseason are not eligible to be kept in either league. In the Trout example above, if that trade took place in December, he is no longer in the AL and must be dropped from team who owned him in the AL. In the NL he is not eligible to be added since there are no waivers/FA adds during the offseason. So, he would be eligible to be drafted in the next NL draft, but no team would be able to acquire him on their NL roster before then.

And yes players signing into a new league as a free agent can not be kept in either league

Fair warning that I will be out of town March 7-11. Will do my best to keep things moving while I'm out but those will be a few slow days. Wanted to make sure we get started before then

If you are out for this season, please let me know as soon as possible so I can find a replacement owner

Reminder of our keeper rules - Keeper cost is 1 round higher than where the player was taken last year. If the player was drafted in, for example, the AL in the 2025 draft, was traded to the NL during the season, their keeper cost from the AL draft follows them over to the NL. Players that change leagues (FA or trade) during the offseason are not eligible to be kept in their new leagues in 2026

Sheesh, now Schwellenback out for at least half the season and I'm right back down to just one solid keeper after trading for Merrill. Not sure if I should do something weird like forgo a keeper entirely, or nuke my draft picks to get another good option and then try to survive a season. So likely will send out a few more NL feelers soon
