Yep. I'll likely just half my campaign rate in January. I don't mind paying a little extra to lure in a buyer but shouldn't be charged when it didn't lure in a buyer.

I lowered mine to 2% from 2.5% and saw a large dump off the cliff this last week. The upcoming holiday could be a reason.

Move it to 2.1% so you're ahead of everybody who just does the minimum.

Has anyone been keeping their campaigns up? It's hard to tell what impact the ads are having now because it's counting as 3x-4x what I was paying in ad fees before. I just ended mine because to see if there's any sort of impact. Paying an extra $300+ a month is kinda crazy with the way they have it rigged up now.

I paused all Campaign activity on December 13 to see how it would go—and it turned out to be the best decision between Dec 13 and today. Performance was strong, and I saved about 2%.
After seeing those results, I’m comfortable not restarting the Campaign. I am happy without campaign.

Last year roughly 54% of my sales paid the promoted fee. Since January 14 it's been 69% of sales. Small sample size though.

A little more time and I can better tell how this is affecting me. It looks like my ad fee cost has seen a raise of about 24%.

Pre new rule: Ads cost me 1.18% of my item sales.
Post new rule: Ads cost me 1.46% of my item sales.

That implies a raise from 59% of my sales getting hit wth the fee to 73%.

Two things can be done to offset this;

1) Recycle listings more often. In theory this should reduce ad fees because more sales will be fresh listings that haven't had time to get caught up with the ad. This doesn't help me because I'm already on an 8 day cycle and pretty much maxed out.

2) Drop the buy price.

I just know that on January 13th when this whole thing started, my impressions dropped by more than half (everything was still promoted). I've since taken off all my promotions. Impressions are the same and I haven't noticed a difference in sales. I have variations so basically every sale I made was a promoted sale which was going to cost me triple what I was paying for ads.
