Yeah, I'm doing something similar - my original comic book collection was thrown away by my mom at some point after I moved away for college. Luckily, I didn't own anything valuable by today's standards, but it still makes me sad to think about sometimes. I've been on a mission to rebuild my collection.

Finally picked up a copy of FF #50 (CGC 4.5):

Very nice. I am very slowly and not very actively doing the same thing, picking up stuff I used to have that I had to sell off when I first got married and had a lot of comics and zero storage space. Picked up a #50 and need 48 and 49. My first #48 cost me just ten bucks at the LCS when I was 12, those were the days.
