Even the empty blaster box sells for $100 because of the green cut out card. Wild!

Man, I have so many scratched (and some unscratched/expired) rookie auto redemptions in a shoebox. If empty blaster boxes are selling for that, hmm..

I've purchased a used scratched redemption card for a card I bought off eBay just so I had the "companion" redemption if that make sense.

There is definitely a market for them.

I have to admit...I love seeing the low end base and insert 2018 Ohtani RC cards on fire! Makes me feel a little less bad about not buying 2018 RC autos and high end cards in the past when they were affordable.

Nice! It's honestly one of my favorite RC's of his. I have a pretty big run of the big league rainbow foils /100, but once they started adding different color versions I got annoyed and stopped chasing.

Nice RC though - Glad you kept a raw version! Mine is still is the mag as well.

I pulled this card back in early-2019. Nice to see that the PJ rookie autos are starting to gain some steam. If the eBay sale prices are accurate, these seem to have doubled since spring training this year

The 1/1 Red Foil sold on Goldin August 2021, for $4305. It's in a PSA 9 holder. I remember hoping it would stay around $2k I would have been on it. Would _love_ to see it hit the auction block again.

I’ve been musing on a topic for the past few weeks: the value of 2024/25 Sho insert cards.

We’re seeing inserts from TC, Cosmic, and Black & White selling for thousands — sometimes tens of thousands of dollars. Alter Egos, ML Minis, Planetary Pursuits, Golden Hours, and the like. In some cases, these prices are approaching rookie-year parallel territory, which, to me, feels veritably absurd.

The question I keep circling back to is whether this pricing is built to last. In the NBA, non-serial inserts such as Downtowns and Kabooms have managed to sustain strong prices over time. Part of me believes Fanatics is deliberately increasing the number of SSP and SSSP inserts without serial numbers, keeping true supply opaque and allowing perceived scarcity to do the heavy lifting on prices. So what do you think - ?

A) Is this the new norm? NBA-style SSP inserts migrating to MLB in the Fanatics era and becoming four and five-figure chase cards that hold value?

B) Or are we watching a familiar cycle play out where today’s hype-fueled inserts become tomorrow’s cannon fodder once novelty wears off?

C) Lastly, as usual, is the truth somewhere in the middle—where low-serial parallels and truly select inserts stand the test of time, while the shine inevitably wears off on the rest?

Personally, I think the answer is C, but part of me wishes it were B. I value specificity and clarity in rarity, and I prefer knowing exactly what I’m holding rather than relying on implied scarcity.

but in saying that, your track record is stellar and your gut will lead you properly

here is my take on the LAD thing.

He is going into the HOF as a Dodger,
thats not really up for debate.

Hie 2018 stuff will always be "top dog"

as crazy as it is to type this, masses of
people seemly have "found out' about
him in the last two years. As if his time
with LAA was the minor leagues.

So here we are, two years into his Dodgerdom
and there are still plenty of cards for all budgets
