Like I said, cases come completely blank, not typical Topps cases. Picture from ebay below.

These weren't even packed out into cases properly. There has to be some reason the typical case codes weren't used.

I have seen some boxes yielding 7 numbered cards. So it’s possible pre-ordered boxes are heavy on numbered cards and regular release has the Golden Hours. That being said, the only Golden Hour we know of is just a Twitter post with no picture of it. So even that seems like a grey area right now.

If your tracking number begins with a 4, it's likely a Fedex shipment. Plug the number into fedex.com and you should be able to find the tracking. Topps provided me with a defunct tracking link to usps.com and I figured out it was coming via Fedex (as this has happened once before).

One big difference I've seen with this release is that it's coming from their Florida shipper/printer/distributor (where Topps NOW cards come from, and I think last year's Shohei 50/50 set). The packing sheet inside my box said the usual Mesquite, TX at the top but all of the tracking was showing from FL.

Also, they screwed up a lot of the tracking links. Mine came via Fedex but the tracking link on topps.com pointed to a defunct USPS.com link. I figured this out and was able to find the tracking link on fedex.com (since this has happened before, I reasoned it was the same problem).

Overall, definitely different from their usual releases. Whether that's the source of the odd missing hits (Golden Hours) and/or contributing to the recall suspicions, who knows.

Same. I only was able to get 5 megas direct from Topps but I was sent a dead link. I have to copy and paste it to FedEx to work. It is also coming from Florida, not Texas.

Same here but it only shows that they were printed by the (likely) same printer as the TN cards (and past B&W releases), no?

I mean, it makes sense. Card stock and attributes are nearly identical.

Good question, but all B&W case orders from Topps are exactly like this (at least the other one I saw). All blank boxes with no printing whatsoever. Just the shipping label with brown tape, not the typical Topps clear case tape.

The last time they released a product without the typical Topps case style was Bob Ross Collectors boxes. Those cases were blank as well; however, Topps added a generic 4x6 sticker with "Topps Bob Ross Collectors Box Case" or something along those lines, on the outside of the box.

Actually a good find. Just checked my order's box from the pre-order and it's from FL. Packing sheet i already shredded.

I got 10 boxes from presale and they came in a box just like that, a regular shipping box with the brown tape

Edit: A seller on ebay has listed their box as “release day” and “loaded.” Clearly they’re watching this thread. They’ve hiked up the price. Be aware there is ZERO evidence one version is more loaded than another. Just the potential false Twitter post. And TBH, I think enough has been opened of both that it’s possible the prerelease may be MORE stacked. Most of the early 1/1s likely came out of prerelease. There was a surge of 1/1s being listed then it kind of stopped.

The seller pulled these PLUS an Elly auto /10 out of a single day-of-release box. Unreal!! He opened two other day-of boxes that were standard.

If you got mega boxes I would recommend you do not open. Opened my 5 and got 1 numbered card and no autos. Should’ve sold and bought a hobby
