The Barmore situation is much more what one could consider a typical domestic violence case. He allegedly assaulted his wife. Unfortunately, that's not exactly unheard of in either the NFL or society at large.

Diggs? Lot of strangeness abounds. AFAIK - and I absolutely reserve the right to change my mind if new information comes out - there was no romantic relationship between the alleged assailant and alleged victim. She simply felt he owed her money for services rendered. It is a matter which should have resolved in the civil courts.

Should have just said, "Sue me" and walked out of the room.

Bribery is illegal. Restitution is not.

His lawyer meets with her lawyer and they agree on restitution and all of sudden she decides not to cooperate with the authorities any longer... happens all the time.

Happy New Year, sir.

Edit:

Reading back, you called me a fool more than once. You're the fool who digs himself deeper each post. Because you refuse to admit you have no idea what you're talking about.

There is something called restitution, good job! Private lawyers don't talk about it before criminal cases because the victim of a crime doesn't hire a private lawyer in a criminal case.

Restitution is court-ordered and is part of pleas and guilty verdicts where the crime has direct monetary damages to the victim (e.g., burglary, robbery) and it has NOTHING to do with paying a witness to refuse to testify. Before charges are brought, that will be discussed with the victim of the crime (you'll testify to the same if needed) and goes into the decision as the whether to bring charges.

So you pipe down as you have no idea what you're talking about, or if your internet ego is too big to admit "whoops I have no idea what I'm talking about" -keep posting and making yourself look more like a foolish donkey. Swimming in the deep end without your floaties, then boorishly say things "oh but you don't know how it works in the real world" - what a joke.

There's that old saying, better to be thought a fool than open your mouth and remove all doubt - same goes here just with your fingers instead of your mouth. You sound like my parents taking about how their internet streaming service works - you know certain words but you're using them in the wrong context and making yourself look like a clown.

A poorly educated, egotistical clown.

For all we know, he may have done precisely that.

Actually what I said was you’re a fool if you don’t realize the scenario I laid out happens quite frequently. You’re above ranting and raving makes me want to remove the “if”.

Based on how angry I made you, and the above ranting and raving, it appears the truth hurts.

Happy New Year to you as well and welcome to my ignore file.

Do you find those statements controversial?

Yeah, when you talk down to other people like you're an expert and they're "fools" - and you have no idea what you're talking about, it can tend to rub people the wrong way.

I'm not sure what "truth hurts" you are referring to that led to my response - I was tring to disambiguate your mash up of what can happen once criminal charges have been filed vs. when someone alleges a potential crime in the media or actions that could lead to a civil - not criminal - cause of action.

I was prepared to leave it alone until the number of times you said FOOL and how wildly and outstandingly wrong you were about just about every point you so cockily made in your mis- and/or uninformed posts.

Because they are all imperative phrases… asking/telling the understood “you” to do something? Who is speaking down to whom?
