The way Podz fell to the floor and rolled up on him would take most players out. That play bordered on dirty. I think when they said going low is effective, that’s not what they meant.

Played limited minutes coming back. That guy can play and is a freak. Not many people can do what this guy can do

Also, when he was in the game, not only was he able to deter OKC from attacking the paint, but all the Spurs perimeter defenders were able to guard their man much more aggressively, as they knew they had a shot eraser in Wemby backing them up if their guy got past them.
Think the Spurs were -19 with Wemby on the bench, and +20 with him on the floor.

I think it's gonna take another offensive leap or two to get him to MVP level, people just dont value defense as much as offense when it comes to MVPs

I agree, I don't see someone who is 20th in scoring winning the MVP. Would at least take having the best record in the league to do it.

Whew! Thank goodness Wemby looks to be ok - what a scare !

Spurs somehow held it together, competed strong without their A1 guy - and won! Great team effort.

I think Wemby will be fine thankfully.

But even before that scare, I've been thinking of exiting out of the bulk of my Wemby stuff. I've got some pretty massive cards of his (NSCC Gold VIP Gem Box /3 and a Select Courtside Cosmic RC PSA 10 probably my two biggest). I just get a bad feeling about the hobby overall right now.

Thinking of keepomg my Prizm Deca Silver RC PSA 10, Courtside Silver RC PSA 10 and Prizm Silver PSA 10 and offloading everything else. I did acquire most of this stuff at the bottom of his price curve, seems like this might be a nice exit point before the hobby eats itself (looking at Fanatics and PSA for that).

I'm considering selling the only card I have as well (topps chrome 2023 rc auto psa 9)

Probably will wait for when they make the playoffs if I do though

Wemby is perhaps the only person in the world that can kick a basketball out of the net while standing. Perhaps it's possible he could even set the world record for highest standing kick (9'9") if he made an attempt. He certainly thinks so:

They did that with his prior injury ramping backup and done it a couple times now with his knee issue he had.. he will be back in starting soon
