McFarlane Bringing Back NFL and NHL Sports Figures

They announced on their FB Page earlier this month that they have re-obtained the NFL and NHL Licenses.

Will these take off like they did back in the late 90's and early 2000's even at a much higher price point most likely ?

I could see them teaming with Fanatics to have exclusive trading cards and the poses be the same as the card photo or even Chase pieces with real memorabilia inserted.

keep your expectations low, if you saw what happened with the return of Starting Lineup I would expect these to flop

They need to keep the price point in the 20-25 range for this to have a chance. I believe the SLUs were 39.99 to 49.99 (can't exactly recall). No one is paying that kind of money for SLUs.

Hoping they make them stactions like in the past and not super articulated like the new SLU's. I wish they would get the MLB license back too.

They turned the SLU into figures similar to McFarlanes, so not sure how the price can really go up to much when he most likely will make them the same way.... we hope.

Yuck I will pass they look like those cheap Commemorative Mint figures you would see on QVC at 3 am.

Excited to see the return…and SLUs bombed IMO because of the price…originally the appeal of them to me was the cheaper price and variety of players.

The vintage 88-2000 starting lineups were awesome. These without the full detail that evolved later with releases of McFarlane/ newer SLU. The market has definitely tanked as you can pick up many Hall of Fame pieces for less than $7

I still have a lot of my NFL McFarlane figures from 2000s / 2010s, I can say they didn't hold up well in terms of value aside from the 3 packs super bowl champions editions.

Excited to see some new players that I would buy but $40?! They didn’t look bigger or better so the price doubling is crazy.
