This is somewhat true, but would love to know the print run comparisons. Just look at the parallel differences.

Also, how will the hobby look in 10 years.

12-13 was 1st Prizm but also had a double rookie class (and both classes were pretty good). AD, Kyrie, Klay, Buckets, Kawhi, Dame + a lot of other guys who were All-Stars or carved out pretty good NBA careers.

This year's rookie class could have some great players, but odds are only 1-2 of them will stand the test of time. However, if anyone reaches that multiple MVP/championship stratosphere while having a dynamic game and personality, sky's the limit. Even with two great rookie classes, no one in the 2012-13 Prizm rookie class will get to that level. Basically, you're looking for someone like MJ, Bron, Kobe, or Curry.

All that being said, Premium is right. There is A LOT of this printed. Would be curious how much there is compared to 2012-13 Prizm. 10-20x? 2012-13 also only had base, silver, green, and gold.
Another factor is how many sets Topps puts out this year...

If we only get 10-12 total sets, this will hold value if 1-2 of the rookies become stars.

Regular pulsar has print run of ~1700, far too many to ever carry value. You can go for the insert pulsars also like you said ~65 copies, but rarity has no bearing on value. With refractors, raywaves, and base of all these same inserts in the thousands of copies printed, it won't matter that pulsar inserts are short printed. Ultimately, the hobby has never cared about pulsars, nor is the insert itself rare at all (most probably prefer a refractor over a pulsar of the same insert anyway). Don't overdo it, you'll have a lot of rare cards that nobody cares about and carry no value

Alot of people buy to hoard wax now too. That is something to take into account.

I think the growth in the hobby will hold well on these long term. So many more people in the hobby now versus 13 years ago.

I really feel like this has been printed on par with last year's prizm. Or at least close.

Having odds though definitely helps in determining what to go after.

The pulsars are printed to 1700. Hypers are like 2500.

This is somewhat true. Wemby pulsar rookies are neck and neck with silvers so people do like them. I wish we had print teun for data from prizm. I wouod love to know how many silvers were printed annually.

Baseball has seen other parallels bring solid money. I think 1700 is still a nice low print run from an un-numbered parallel. Rookie inserts like serenity in pulsar will do ok in the long run.

Im going to try and put a pulsar set together. When people realize how short printed they are compared to base refractors or x - Fractors.

They arent for everyone but I like them a lot.

I opened 1 hobby box and 10 hangers so far, the hobby box was awful, the Hangers were much better!

Hobby Box hits:
Magenta Refractor /399 Derrick White
Orange Wave /25 Dalton Knecht
Sky Write Signatures Auto Green /99 Rasheed Wallace
No Flagg, best rookie VJ Edgecombe

Hangers Hits:
All the good rookies, no Flagg
Purple pulsar /75 Coby White

Paradox (SSP) Ja Morant

and the best hit...

Purple pulsar /75 Kon Knueppel

Nice pulls!

Sadly, given the hobby/jumbo price bloat, retail is easily the way to go. 25 hangers vs. 1 hobby box? 70 hangers vs. 1 jumbo? No brainer. Even megas and blasters are better value than hobby/jumbo.

I mean a case of hangers yields about 2-4 autos, at least one case hit, and probably 12 color cards.

An absolute no brianer over a Jumbo.

2-3 "case hits" I'd say.

That is likely the reality. They have been fairly loaded. Just from the sample size we see here in the forums.

I wonder how many breaks we would see in the break section. If this was 2017. Man this place was hopping back then.

Could get a rough idea by comparing the number of the top rookies that have been graded.

For example, 3,000 AD Prizm RC's have been graded compared to 45,000 Wemby Prizm RC's. And that's with AD's card having a decade longer to get graded.

My 4 megas just got here, not great either.

Hits:
My first Flagg, Destiny insert
Go time RayWave Refractor Ace Bailey
RayWave Refractors Yellow /275 Karl Anthony Towns
Refractors Teal /299 Michael Porter Jr

best hit X-Fractor LeBron James

Impossible question but how long do we think it takes to run through 500,000 hangers? Estimated print run is 505,920 boxes

Wemby has had 45k base versions graded.... What an insane number of submissions.

Silvers are at 7600 ish graded.

Will we see that many Flagg refractors sent in? That would be a 60 percent submission rate for refractors.

Well my lcs has sold through 4 cases.

I have ripped right at a case worth and have another case coming.

With the exception of places out in the boonies I cant find them locally anymore.

Same around here. Walmart and meijer are picked clean. Blasters in plenty, but hangers gone. Haven’t checked my LCS as its more of a resell shop and hangers are probably $30ish

You're right - and there are over 26,000 PSA 10's. That's compared to 1,700 of AD.

I’m hoarding hangers at MSRP and trying to accumulate as many jumbos as I can under $1500 without moving the market myself. Hangers are a no brainer with the contents that are coming out of them. The limited supply of jumbos will have their value moving quicker than the other skus in my opinion. So many went to breakers and even if some are still being slow rolled by Fanatics, there’s still just so few of them on the market only a week into the release. Also, if 2024 Topps Chrome Update Jumbos can sell for $2k these can easily eclipse that. Chrome Update is an awful product outside of the limited debut patch chases, this product isn’t awful and has plenty of huge cards to chase.

They're still up on the Topps website. Limit 32.

Sounds like a no-brainer to me. Worst case scenario you still have a bunch of packs to open for fun.

Pretty sure they limit it per account.

Also, has anyone seen any Blue X-Fractors out of the Megas? They're either SSSSSSSSSP or Topps didn't add them.
