Can someone explain to me how keeping it off the pop report for a few months so their reality TV show isn't spoiled is so wrong? Or am I not seeing why people are mad?

It's still off the pop report (cert #124121624).

The next cert after it is nothing, but the one after that (cert #124121626), is a T206 Cob from the same Shields family collection as the Wagner, but that one shows the pop report like usual.

This is straight-up pop manipulation... maybe understandable if it was for just a brief amount of time as a surprise to the hobby, but why is the pop still not updated?

It shows favortism... which is something an objective TPG like PSA should not be engaging in.

I'm sure they'll eventually update it. IDK it feels a bit over the top. Saying PSA ruined the hobby feels like sour grapes after getting back a PSA 7 on a card that would've only been $400 if it gem'd anyway.

1. Consolidated almost all major grading companies under one umbrella
2. Vertical integration via grading, vaulting, instant offers
3. Incentive to grade low for resubs/keeping pop reports exclusive
4. The CEO of said grading company also being really into collecting and submitting his own cards to the company he runs feels scummy for sure to me.

Yeah they've definitely done some damage in their time. The fact that so many smooth brain Neanderthals are like "PSA or worthless" in this hobby has enabled this.

Their consolidation of basically the entire industry from top to bottom once a set releases is pretty scummy and any functioning government would have laid pipe on them a long time ago. It isn't good for the consumer.

Almost everyone in this slice of collecting has at one point or another flexed the value or price increase of something they've had. As cards are in the process of becoming a widely recognized alternative asset, keeping something in the harshest grader's slab isn't just built on word of mouth but wanting to achieve the best possible standard for your hold. BGS 10 autos look like garbage pretty consistently compared to PSA 10 autos as an example.

Blaming PSA for beating out the competition by a wide margin and then buying them out to dismantle them is the competition's fault for being subpar.

PSA is entirely beatable. Their slabs don't have sub-grades, turnaround times are slower, fees are a bit pricey, and truthfully I've gotten back some 10s that should have been 9s since many of their graders simply lack attention to detail. As more money gets into the hobby (this is just the tip of the iceberg) the flawed PSA will eventually meet their match if they don't resolve X Y and Z thing. For now, they are the best company so I want my cards backed by the best company. CGC is for comics, SGC's slabs look bootleg, and BGS couldn't spot a trimmed card if it were cut in half.

PSA grades altered/fake cards, autos, and patches as well. Likely at the same rate BGS has.

I don't blame PSA for anything except cornering the market via gobbling up competitors. As for their being able to do so, I blame the braindead consumer base that grades cards for treating them as the end all, for valuing a beat tf up PSA10 like its worth near twice what a 9.5 of any other grader is just cause it jas that label, for acting like PSA is worthy of their trust and can do no wrong, etc.

Gnat has an extremely untrustworthy face.

Like an amalgamation of Piers Morgan and Harrelson in Natural Born Killers.

So what you're saying is... it's not PSA's fault

Nobody is forcing them into anti-consumer behavior...
