I'm quite proud of the fact that the last comic book movie I ever saw was Logan (which I loved btw, it's one of the best movies ever, not just comic book movies).

I watched every Marvel and DC movie before that, but I gave up on them completely after Logan. I'm not even counting the TV shows (Gotham, Arrow, Agents of SHIELD, Disney+ shows, etc) it just became too much, and stale. And with the oversaturation, just completely turned me off to it all

From 2017-onward, there have been 32 Marvel movies and 18 DC movies released.

God knows, how many TV shows/tie-ins, etc. on top of it

Absurd, but when there's money to be made, they will never stop

If you reply with...."last one on eBay sold for this"...then you should have bought it on eBay.

I got to enjoy Logan in theaters too. Great film.

Watched Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair for most of the day. If you liked the original separate movies then I think you’ll find the combined version to be worth 5 hours of your day. It was fun.

Gotham was pretty damn good even without a full fledged adult Batman character.

The rest though yeah I agree. Arrow started off decent but quickly went off the rails. Only other DC shows I liked were Superman & Lois and The Penguin.

You should check out Lucifer. This is possibly the best DC show.

If you like the Knives Out series, Wake Up Dead Man is well worth it. Double thumbs up!

I was being hyperbolic. Your take is more accurate.

Just saw "Anaconda" with Paul Rudd and Jack Black.
Objectively, I'd say it was pretty good, but those who enjoy those guys' work will like it more than those who have no opinion of them, and I think it would be akin to nails on a chalkboard for those who dislike them. There are a couple of funny cameos, too.

If you like both Rudd and Black: 8.2/10
If you like one of them: 6.6/10
If you don't think about them much either way: 5.8/10
If you dislike one of them: 5.2/10
If you loathe them both: 2.7/10

We watched Bugonia last night. I thought it was entertaining. Kept the is she or isn’t she question alive most of the film. Solid acting and interesting premise.

Watched Bogonia. I thought it was good. I saw the ending coming about 1/3 of the way into the movie, but that didn't stop me from enjoying it. 7/10.

Went and saw Anaconda Christmas Day night on release. Just because I have never don a theater day on Christmas before.

I went in with low expectations, I don't even think those were met.

Marty Supreme 7.5/10

Great performance by Timothy Chalamet (deserving of an Oscar) and the rest of the cast. The cinematography was spot on and felt like an on-point period piece (with a few exceptions to the dialogue). The story remained interesting throughout the film. The flaws have to do with pacing and attempting to cram way too many situations into the story.

It's refreshing to see A24 allow filmmakers to make a deplorable, flawed narcissist who completely lacks empathy for anyone other than himself as the lead character in a movie.
