opinion question time!
I have 4 big boy PSA graded cards getting shipped to me soon and I was hoping for some insight as to values because I do plan on selling.

I tried doing comps myself, but the data available is just too limited. I use Terapeak through ebay so its looking at the past 3 years as a limitation.


Spider-Man 10 sold for $2479 on 7/14/25
What do you think a PSA 9 would be worth?
Only comp is a listing that sold a Spidey 9 AND a Moon Knight 9 in one listing for $1650 on 7/16/25

Wolverine in PSA 10 sold for $3k on 8/4/25
(I dont have a 10. Just for data’s sake)

Big cards, and probably not gonna be easy to comp. The good thing about the Wolvie and Venom is im pretty sure you’d have control of the market on those since I don’t immediately see any others for sale. So if there’s someone going for a set and desperately needs those top characters, I could see them paying a lot.

There is a Spidey PSA 10 currently for 2700 obo sitting unsold at the moment which I imagine you’ve seen. That could effectively be a ceiling currently.

It’ll come down to how quick you want to sell them all. I think a Wolvie 9 priced at like 1000 would sell quickly. So I’d at least start it at 1500+ and see what happens. The venom probably sells quickly at 800, and could start that one at 1000+ maybe. The Spidey in 9 could be a $1000-1500 card as a guess. Any much more and the PSA 10 at 2700 obo would be a more enticing probably. This is all just my opinion…with so few comps it’s hard to tell.

Usually psa 9 sells for the same price or slightly more than raw. I would check the raw prices and multiply by 1.2 to get a realistic idea of actual value.

I’m not actively going for the gold vc’s (golds were enough), but I do like the way they look and maybe someday will start chasing them.

PSA turnaround times are nutttts lately. Just submitted one to them on comc bulk tier and the estimated date is like 5/17/26 (and PSA seems to never meet those anyway). Meanwhile I sent this in to CGC and it was due a couple months out- actually like 12/30 and just got it back into my comc account early. Sure is a smoother way to grade, but yea PSA gets you the value boosts. Not sure what I’ll do with this Cap..may move it or may keep it in case I go for the set.

Almost done with my Cat cards for the set I think.

Base, Rainbow, Blue Traxx, Pink Lasers, Red Prism, Seismic Gold. Doubt I will get the VC Purple, Emerald or Lava unless I find one stupidly cheap.

Thanks- I don’t have much in the way of PMG dups since was just putting together a set of red singles. But if I decide to go for the gold vc’s I’ll be sure to let you know as I see you have quite a bit of them.

Boxes have gone up to $174.95 at D & A, and a case is $3,129.95, meanwhile Steelcity is selling the boxes at the same price and cases are not available, maybe people are buying out many of the boxes?

Possibly. I take box/case remaining numbers from the big retailers with a grain of salt though...they seem to come and go in spurts

I think the product does have lots of demand and the amount of boxes left are much less than people think. D & A barely gave any discounts in the black Friday sales, $5 off, and it quickly sold out. Hmm interesting. Yes I too noticed the large number of hits being listing from Asia.

The one thing that makes me still think there is a metric ton of this product out there is the relatively small number of 1/1s reported hit, looking at the tracker. Lots of empty space there. Sure it doesn’t capture everything no doubt, but still even allowing some of that, it just seems like a small # hit so far. I think of the top 5 big characters most of the 1/1s have yet to surface publicly. Unless they are hit and just not reported anywhere publicly online.

You may be right though, the slightly escalating prices cold be a sign. I always thought the $150-160 or whatever it was for a hobby box was pretty generous anyway…only a matter of time until people start investing in those to stash/flip eventually.

You may be right though, the slightly escalating prices cold be a sign. I always thought the $150-160 or whatever it was for a hobby box was pretty generous anyway…only a matter of time until people start investing in those to stash/flip eventually.

The problem with this product being opened a lot in China is that many of the grail 1/1 cards will be pulled and kept hidden from the public, which is the reason I didn't like the fact that so many collectors in China opened this product, and it makes no sense why it is in such demand there. That can be the reason why so few of the 1/1 cards were reported in your tracker. China's exposure to Marvel are mostly restricted to MCU and so why would there be such big demand for this product, especially when there are no Marvel cards collectors in the 90s to be nostalgic about this set. You can check out on youtube the card show ASCC at Macau, which shows you how much grail cards are there in China (although most are sports cards), and many of which won't be in the USA market.

So I’ve been super busy but as we come to the end of the year, I realized that this year I’ve almost exclusively moved from sports cards to Marvel. And it’s really because of this set. I have been collecting pretty much everything so far, but in trying to focus my collection, I made a list of “best” versions (pretty much color match) that are going to be my end goal for this product. I’ll share the list tomorrow and some of the cards I’ve been able to check off that list so far.

As a teaser, I’ve shared these before but here’s a couple characters where I think the VIP black is the best looking parallel… plus my Spidey just to show off

There was also a Spidey CGC 10 for $945, so the PSA 9 is probably in that ballpark or a little lower. And in general I’d put Wolverine / Venom at 1/2 - 2/3 of Spidey, but when discussing rare cards like this where there are virtually none available, you kind of have all the leverage. As Dyna mentioned though, there’s a PSA 10 Spidey just sitting there at <$3k, which kind of caps the 9 in that 1000-1500 range, and I would think also trickles down to the other characters. Unfortunately being unnumbered and without concrete numbers of print run, these types of cards will never be worth the same as actual numbered cards of the same rarity

Yep epack only as achievements. No set print run. It’s a tiered sort of set where the early numbers in the set #1-6ish are plentiful, then gets a little harder into the teens, then super hard after like #16, and then almost impossible to find for ones #23-25, like the Spidey and Venom above.

So a VIP Black #2 Psylocke probably has a print run into the multiple hundreds. But the current print run of #25 Spidey VIP black (as well as the Wolverine and Venom) is probably less than 10

Copy / paste from excel looks like garbage, so let’s see how this looks. My “best parallel” list, so far. Admittedly some are up for debate as the “best” is subjective and isn’t as abundantly clear for some characters, but for a lot of characters it’s what I’m aiming for

So obviously anything with “Blue PMG” can be replaced by Blue Traxx for a much more affordable price. Here’s some “budget friendly” versions of some pairings using Blue Traxx until I can find a PMG

Next up are some of the “I love both of these and can’t really decide which is better” pairings.




This Ghost Rider looks so amazing with the flamey lava effect, but at the same time just the pure black background makes his skull and flaming tires just pop so much better. I made an early decision that I have to have room for both in the list.




Kind of the same feeling here with Widow. There’s so much background space that it allows the Red PMG to shine with its simplicity, or really show off the lava effect. I think it was a miss to not include Black Widow / Cat / Panther in the VIP black set




Wolverine was always one of my favorite characters growing up, but TBH I’ve never been a big fan of the art on this card. I don’t know if it’s the lack of pupils, or just the focus on a weird stance instead of highlighting his face or claws, but obviously he’s still a character I’ve been chasing pretty hard from the start. Blue & Gold both shine through really well, although I probably give a slight edge to the blue here




And here’s two more that I only have halfway done, but think will look amazing to pair the Magneto Purple with the Red, and vice versa with the Scarlet Witch

My goodness! Those VIP Blacks are the things dreams are made of! Thanks for sharing! My dream is to one day find a VIP black spidey, but I’m thinking I missed the boat most likely.
