Default A day after the Ohtani card sale record, how about the exquisite Jordan/kobe logoman?

Who keeps on extending the dual logoman auction? I thought I had it at $2 million. Will this card surpass the Ohtani?

How do you feel about being that kid who couldn’t afford upper deck baseball packs again in your youth, knowing you will never make it to the big boy game?

Interesting fact about this card - the Jordan logoman used is from a wizards jersey.

That makes me out.

Gross. If they were truthful and replaced Bulls with Wizards, I wonder how much that would affect the value. It's misleading for sure. At what point can it be considered fraud?

If it said wizards on front, it would affect it significantly.

The back clearly states it, but this auction is the first time I have ever seen the back of that card.

There are numerous examples of this happening in the past, where the picture of the player in the front is wearing a different uniform than what the game used piece is from.

After the auction premium, final tally is 3.172 million.

Jeez but not surprising. As time passes, Kobe seems to be more heralded than LJ. I'm guessing this sold more than an MJ/LJ?

Jordan wizards is lol (and that's assuming the logoman is from a truly game worn jersey at all, of course). But if the winner didn't bother to read the back of the card, well...

It sold for $900k in 2020. It was graded a bgs 8.5.

Someone had owned all three at one point in time.

And that someone is selling now when they don’t even need the money? Interesting. Something to keep an eye on.

I don't think the fact MJ's logoman is from Wizards Uni should affect card much at all. The reason being cards nowadays don't even specify where game used pieces are from, so logically why would a buyer downgrade a card because it specifies it?

If that's the case, why would buyers not downgrade all logomans from the past 10+ years and just assume the logoman/patches are from the player's least desirable season? If we knew Kobe's logoman from recent years was from his last season when he was mediocre would that downgrade the card too?

I thought it was strange/interesting, too. I remember when Nat bought the three cards, he said they were his dream chase cards ever since Exquisite was released. He only kept it five years.

You may not, but most collectors do. It's obvious from the comments here and also on IG, twitter, etc. Most MJ fans try hard to forget the wizards years or act like they never happened. My goodness, even The Last Dance Documentary never even made mention of it lol.

Technically speaking there are less Wizards gamers than Bulls.

Why would a documentary about the Bulls dynasty's last season talk about what happened in 2001? Lol

The Last Dance documentary was focused on Michael Jordan and his life. This is why many of his teammates were upset, because it was more about Jordan than the team. The documentary went into detail about his high school and college years. So it basically covered everything MJ except for the lowly wizards years. Jordan preferred it that way (and who can blame him), viewing his Wizards tenure as a forgettable "encore" with painful injuries, a disappointing front-office stint (drafting Kwame Brown), and a poor team he couldn't carry to the playoffs, making it a FAR less glorious ending compared to his iconic Bulls legacy.
