How Long Has PSA Been Slabbing Sketches With Grades? - Page 10

I got this one back from psa today.... this is my first time grading a sketch... I have another goonies sketch out that I won't get back until December and I will probably send my 3rd goonies sketch soon

Well done! That is a great one! That reminds me that I’m sitting on an unredeemed Goonies set, but I’m afraid I will pull an uggo since my luck with achievement sketches on ePack is not the greatest.

I thought about doing the goonies sketch achievement again but I didn't have a completed extra set and trading on it got too tough... I think I had like 8 extra golds left that I ended up trading away..

If you do redeem it let me know because I'm curious to see what you get...

Normally on epack I don't get sketches that I like enough to keep.. I ended up being happy with all the sketches I got out of goonies

Dang… this one got crushed in grading. Must have a big crease or something. In good news… they got the character name right and it’s a cool sketch from one of my favorite episodes (probably one of the only good modern episodes).

Off topic I got a question you might be able to help with since you do more grading than me... have you ever submitted to psa through comc and got the card back ungraded? If you have did they give an explanation or give back your money?

I submitted a marvel annual premieres venom for grading months ago and today it showed back up in my inventory ungraded but with an elite scan... I didn't have the money back in my comc account though... I contacted them but I'm sure it will be a little while before they respond.

Yeah… they refund you a within a couple days after the item is returned to your account. You will eventually be able to see the COMC credit when you click on your history.

They also send you an email with brief explanation. Here is one of mine that I got back recently… “Thank you for your recent grading submission! I'm writing this e-mail to inform you that the following item was not eligible for grading due to the item being returned from PSA as "Miscut" and is not supported by our third-party grading partner.”

In my most recent submission, I did mostly 2004-2008 Star Wars sketch cards. Goal was to preserve some of my favorite cards rather than keeping them in my binders. Next batch, I plan on doing some of my 2009-2011 Galaxy die-cuts and Indiana Jones sketches. Here are some of my favorites:

A word of caution with the Galaxy diecuts. They tend to return them if they don’t feature Star Wars characters or are unsigned. SW Galaxy 4 had a lot of diecuts with non-SW characters. It was less of an issue in later sets.

Good to know re the die-cuts, I had a few G4 ones rejected I assume for this reason now. I know for G4, Lucasfilm okayed any art (beyond just SW characters) but it got stricter for G5/G6. Maybe I should try sending a few of these to CGC.

Someday I need to sort through my collection and post a slab for each Dino in the set A to Z.

And for some reason this was returned unslabbed… maybe they couldn’t identify the character? It is signed on back.
