Odd that both brothers are off for personal reasons. Either they're having mercy on the rest of the league for their recent reign of terror, or there's an emergency. Wish them both the best.

The most recent draft had some big time players. Cooper Flagg will be All-NBA on both ends by age 20. Dylan Harper looks like he will become a top guard and had HoF potential. Kon's immediate grasp of the NBA could get him in the all-star game this year. Fears, VJ, and Ace all playing significant minutes and playing solid. Derek Queen looks like he will become a 20/10/5 guy real soon so far is the steal of the draft.

Great draft.

Worst loss all year, maybe in the past two years

It's clear that there is close to zero offensive schema on this team, every play is like watching improv with somebody just hoping that the ball goes down

Something needs to change I don't know if it's a trade or what but this is not going to work

Agreed. Which is why I still view a team like the Lakers above Houston, at the moment. I know their defense isn't good, but their offense is so good that as long as the game is close at the end, they will win most of them. End of games are the Lakers specialty, whereas Houston, it's their kryptonite.

I'd say the tiers in the West right now are:

1. OKC
2. LAL/Denver
3. SA/Houston
4. Minny

OKC

.......................................................................... The Mendoza Line ......................

Everyone else.

Knipple may already be the purest shooter in the league outside of aged Steph. The rare Melo flu game make the Hornets a semi-annual treat to watch.

Nah, I think Houston is closer to sweeping the Lakers than the Lakers are to beating them. OKC >> Houston/Denver > SA > Lakers.

I would. I trust Vassell way more than I trust Barnes.

Personally, I might take the Lakers over Houston, but I still think Houston has the better odds against OKC. The Lakers just don't match up well against the Thunder at all. Just my two cents.

Had an hour or so to cool off, check out a few replays...

And I can confidently rule out bias on my end. Marc Davis just stole an incredibly hard fought W from the Kings with an absolute nonsense call. What's more, it was late after the final buzzer, and he was the worst positioned ref. Then they reviewed the call. Complete bulls^*t!!

I think its long overdue the NBA got rid of some of these veteran officials, cycle in some younger options. Pay them more and penalize them for crucial blunders...

dude loves WB so much he’s emotionally tied to the wins and losses of a 6-21 team

Agreed. It was a weird game if people watched. Sengun wanted the ball down the stretch of 4Q/OT and kept turning it over and taking bad shots. KD finally said enough at the end of OT and stopped passing it to him. KD very clearly should have the ball at end of games. Think they’ll figure that stuff out though.

No way I'm taking the Lakers over the Rockets. If you look at the top six teams in the West standings the Lakers have the worst point differential. Both the Nuggets and Rockets have a (9.0) or better point differential. The Lakers point differential is below (2.0). The Lakers are fun to watch, but their defense is not good. The Nuggets don't have the best defense either, but their offense is better than the Lakers.

The Rockets loss last night was a bad loss, but the Pelican are playing better than many realize. This was their third straight win, and they are one of the funnest teams to watch right now. A few weeks ago I watch an overtime thriller between them and the Timberwolves. Both teams played again two nights later. I figured the Timberwolves would kill them in the second game, but that didn't happen. The game was competitive until the Timberwolves pulled away in the fourth. The Pelicans have a bright future.

Future would be brighter if they had put a top 6 protection on that DQ trade with Atlanta.

Yea I think they have one of the least bright futures in the league lol.

Queen is fine but I’m still just not really a huge fan in crowning him some future superstar. He reminds me of a much less dominant and smaller Demarcus Cousins.

I still think Trey is the best player on that team by a wide margin. They should move Herb, Missi, Zion (for literally anything)… anyone not named Queen or Trey should be traded for anything

All y'all still unquestionably give the nod to OKC over SA. Hmm, ok, but didn't SA just win ... in an highly contested important game ... on a neutral court? Couple of games soon up OKC/SA.

Absolutely yes, no question.

SAS has never been tested in a playoff series

Exactly

A one off game says nothing about a team's true ability, especially in a faux-playoff setting

Also Wemby hasn't shown the kind of consistency to make the spurs true contenders yet (personal issues notwithstanding)

Yes, we all know SA has never been tested in a playoff series. And yes, it was only one game. But don't downplay it as both teams were trying their darnest to bring it and compete hard with big effort, more so than a ho-hum regular mid season game.

Their talent runs deep. Their depth is an asset. Their coaching is top notch. The organization as a whole is of the highest quality. Their team chemistry is excellent. Their defense is high end.

Former NBA Champion, Kendrick Perkins, "believes SA has shown they are legit title contenders and can cause problems for OKC in the playoffs." And, "If they play the way that they played tonight and have been playing all season, they can definitely have a shot at winning the NBA championship right now."

Spurs are incredible, so fun to watch and having an amazing season. They’re a year away

The problem is that for everything SAS is good at, OKC is better. Scoring, shooting, defense, rebounding, depth, talent… the only possible edge in a series would be nuclear Wemby is the best player.

If we see peak Embiid out of Wemby it’s possible to win a series but the probability of that seems pretty low for now.

Actually I think peak Hakeem is a much better Wemby comparison
