So did this get delayed? I saw Pixar Gold got pushed to next year when it was supposed to be coming out in a week or so.

I'm still seeing 12/23 as the release date.

Actually having character but non-MCU based inserts might raise the value of the set. In my experience with UD MCU sets, inserts of Scarlet Witch, Mighty Thor (Portman) and Black Widow had some value but the others, even of Spiderman and Captain America weren't sought after except in that Black Diamond set.

Anyone have a guess when the EQL boxes ship? Wondering if I’ll have these in hand by Christmas?

I saw that thing posted yesterday and immediately figured - six figure card, in this current hobby universe.

Marvel is actually marketing that card on their Instagram. I don't recall Marvel ever posting/promoting Upper Deck MCU cards.

Topps and Marvel both marketing... New movie trailers might spark interest in MCU again? Tight supply of sealed product. Breakers driving FOMO.

I think we will see some silly ebay/auction houses listings/sales over few couple months.

Still plenty of affordable UD MCU cards out there. I don't see Topps MCU cards being affordable for a while.

The question now is...which breaker did Topps send that card too? Because if we see it being 'pulled' by a breaker and posted on topps, we shoudl know lol.

Would be refreshing to see the card come out of a hobby box over breakers delight at least.

The leaked Avengers Doomsday trailer has generated a lot of controversy on social media. Marvel has gotten desperate to attract audiences back to their movies, and so they are bringing back popular MCU characters/actors from the past to generate excitement, and it's not going over well with a lot of their fan base. So, it might actually be a bad time to sell MCU cards.

You never quite know what you'll get with those "member berries" -- it could be nostalgia for harmless entertainment, or it could be racism -- "memba?"

Ah, I see that you've been in the hobby for at least a year now and know of the dark arts being used by Fanatics to manipulate customers.

Not how it works anymore -- it will sell for big money to justify the high cost of chasing it. Nevermind that both actors already have plenty of on-card autos as their character in existence.

For the uninitiated, how does an EQL release work?

Is there a button made available at the time of the drop, in this case 12/23 12:00pm, for like an hour?
https://www.topps.com/pages/topps-marvel-studios-chrome

Blowout has a page up for the same day, so I'm unsure how they can do that unless they get them outside the EQL.

Wow tough crowd-

People- "Marvel sucks because the new characters suck."

Same people- "Marvel sucks because they are desperate and bringing old characters back"

I think there's an overall superhero fatigue and since Disney+ started, less people will go to movies anyway to see Marvel movies.

That said, I'm thinking the 1/1 superfractor goes in the 10K-15K range. That's waaay more than MCU autos and is the first to feature both Jackman/Reynolds.

As to the others, you might be right. Waiting until next December is tough but in the interim lower values and then higher if the movie is a hit? There should be some other MCU products before the movie is released though.

Is for Breaker boxes? Or are they releasing yet more hobby boxes?

For the first one, my friend sent a link to me, I entered my info (and payment) and then a few hours later I was informed of whether I won or not. I had up a certain amount of time to enter my information and then it was closed at a cut off time/date.

I've seen some hate for it on Twitter, but that's because hating on things drives engagement there.

On the various Marvel subreddits, people seem more excited to have Chris back but are generally concerned about erasing his happy ending.

I think when the movie comes out, it'll do gangbusters unless it's truly a confusing mess, which with all the things going on, it could be. I trust this team to land the plane though. I thought what they did with Infinity War and Endgame would not have been possible with someone like Joss Whedon or many others.

They need to stop making multiverse movies -- Spider-Man No Way Home, Deadpool and Wolverine, and presumably Avengers Doomsday, are all big-event MCU multiverse movies.

It is a really lazy, gimmicky, and expensive way to generate nostalgia and excitement.

If I were Marvel Studious, I would be doing one-off films that aren't interconnected with the rest of the MCU. Think Wolverine vs Predator. The MCU is a mess and audiences are turned off and fatigued by the large amount of mediocre films and TV shows that have been released over the last half decade. Make films that are designed to be unique and self-contained -- no more time travel or multiverse slop. Time traveling and multiverse stories were gimmicks in the comic books in the 90s and 2000s -- just stop already.

Audiences are straight up REJECTING things that aren't familiar or nostalgic. I don't blame Marvel going back to the tried and true. It's a business and with how audiences reacted to Spider-Man FFH and Deadpool and Wolverine, they spoke loudly to Marvel about what they want. I'd say Thunderbolts and Fantastic Four are two of the best movies they've done and both pretty much underperformed both in theaters and on Disney+.

I don't love it either, but it is what it is.

Both sides are right -- you shouldn't be introducing replacement characters and then pulling the rug out from under them and their fans. You also shouldn't have thought that B and C tier characters were going to effectively carry the torch that the A tier characters held. You needed to change the formula and lower expectations if you were going to get rid of Chris Evans' Captain America and Robert Downey Jr's Iron Man. In the comic books, characters practically never age out. But it was always going to be the case that the original Avengers actors were going to age out and need to be replaced.

Only $10-15k? That seems low for a TC product chase card of any kind, let alone the first Jackman-Reynolds dual-auto superfractor.

Well, the nostalgia-bait is also going to lose its effectiveness over time as well. So, they need a longer-term plan to make the MCU sustainable.
