Finished my first box....only 2 SP's , although one was Nick Kurtz.

"Hits" were a red auto of Carson McCusker, a image variation of Cade Horton, and a Matt Shaw green refractor #/99.

Only two numbered cards in the box.....

Had a blue paper (8), blue sparkle (8), refractor (2), or chrome (6) in every pack.

Serial numbers are impossible to read with the naked eye , and would have missed the image variation since the word "image" is also too tiny to read with the naked eye. Only reason I caught it was because I noticed that I had two cards of the same player when sorting.

Thought I read the SP odds changed to 4/box. What do the pack odds say? Also curious about inserts…since they’ve made it mathematically impossible to build a master set from a case, but apparently the odds are better this year…what did you get in the first box?

Odds for high numbered short prints are 1:12 packs, or 2 per box this year. I mean, there are only 25 short prints anyways. I kinda like that they are tougher to hit. The Kurtz will be pretty expensive.

Last year they were 1:4 packs, or 6 per box

So they're basically doing the same thing with HHN that they've done with regular Heritage....i.e. seeding the SP's so that you cannot finish the SP set from a single case (96 out of 100 for regular, 24 out of 25 for HHN).

Thankfully I only bought two boxes....but I'll still have to do a lot of trading to get all 25 SP's. In retrospect, probably would have been better off just buying a 501-700 set from someone for $20 instead of two boxes for $180.

Looks like I pulled a couple of other hits that look to be pretty scarce......a Matt Shaw Green/99 SP Refractor (1:734 packs) and a Hank Aaron Holograph 1976 cards (1:120 packs).

opened 2 and a bit boxes this today, even though i beat the odds, it wasn't a enjoyable experience.

all my big base rookies (Baldwin, Mayer, Keaschall) were off centred, i managed to hit 6 sps, but they were 3 Bogearts and 3 Grishams? hit 2 crappy autos, a common gold, 2 blue, and a few more numbered.

couldnt bare myself to open more.

all this reinforces my prediction this drops to $60 a box in a week.

back to a complete garbage product.

I have always enjoyed Heritage High Number releases. Some of the cards are my favorite each year. Specifically with the Red Ink autographs. Not much beats those in my book. But with that being said, its really hard to open Heritage in bulk. It starts getting repetitive really fast and the exciting hits are spaced out a good bit. It was definitely a love/hate relationship when I would break 50-100 cases per release of Heritage. It not being enjoyable for you is completely understandable. This is one that doesn't really fit into the market today, even though there is still a strong collector base for it. The sealed stuff should be available pretty cheap moving forward.

I don’t mind that they made the SPs harder to hit, but it wasn’t a great idea to also make most of the key rookies SP. The base 200 card checklist is horrid this year.

It isn't garbage, its just boring to open and very niche on the singles side.

Whether or not HHN is/is not a "garbage" product is primarily a factor of the checklist....i.e. which rookies got called up during the season, which (if any) stars got traded, etc.

Because with the base checklist being only 200 cards, ripping more than a couple of boxes is going to get repetitive very fast.

They needed to balance harder to hit with set building.

I get they are moving this to a "hit" product with all the silly unnumbered parallels, but to make it impossible to make a complete set set with SP's, let a alone a master set, from a case of High Number is ridiculous.

4 SP per box would have been a fine compromise.

That said if this is $60/box this might be the first baseball wax I've opened in more than a year. I won't hold my breath.

That requires a higher level of thinking than most Fanatics employees are capable of.

The idea that different products appeal to different niches, and should have different configurations, is too complex for them to understand.

This product is going to get stale very quickly- only one real chase (Kurtz RC SP) and you’re lucky if you hit one in a full case? So much junk otherwise… agree with the predictions that the prices for these is going to drop quickly

Why is it necessary to SP a rookie card? So he has no true base rookie in this set? That is absurd. Why not give him a base rookie but also make a fun chase SP?

Opened 2 boxes. Was a little shocked at the short print issue. 1 box didn't have a single short print, while the other had 1 standard short print, 1 blue short print, 1 sparkle short print, 1 chrome short print...so I guess it did balance out.

Will make a flipped bat/Image V/Nickname card to hit if they are majority SP Players Checklist.

Pulled 1 auto and 1 relic so in line with the 6 autos/6 relics I've been seeing in case breaks.

Feels a little like old heritage...I'm good with that.
