I'm not sure where he'll end up but there is something different in his game. His fearless approach, demeanor and his competitiveness. It can't be capped by the position he plays. He brings an edge and I didn't really see it until after the All-Star break. A weekend btw where he showed up dressed to play every day...something else you haven't seen out of a lot of these players. He's going to be fine going forward. As these older players phase out of fan favor and Wemby starts whispering...you never know

If we assume Wemby will be the #1 on the Spurs for years to come, I think Castle can become the clear cut #2 behind Wemby, and people that invest/have invested in Castle already will be rewarded down the road.

2nd game back from injury and Castle puts up 30/10/6 on the Lakers. You might say it was an all-NBA performance last night. My friendly gentlemen's agreement is still open, jcardstore
![]() From Statmuse: Stephon Castle is the youngest player in NBA history with 30+ points, 10+ rebounds, 5+ assists, 3+ threes on 70+ FG% in a game Last edited by BoSoxFan1999; 12-11-2025 at 08:20 AM. |

For a second year player converted to PG, I can live with the TOs. As long as they trend downward. He’s been better but you see it creep up every once in a while. Now Mitch understands when to pull him aside. Now that the shot is falling more, he’s been amazing. Everyone naturally looks to Wemby but OKC has a problem keeping him out of the paint. Then having to contend with the quickness of Fox. The guards are the key to their success.

OKC's defense isn't so bulletproof against a team with so many ball handlers with size to boot. |

A healthy Spurs team looks unstoppable right now.

1) I'm not going to bet you anything because I'm not interested in getting banned over something so stupid 2) I will just enjoy being right when this is bumped in 3 years. 3) Word of advice - don't be so eager to put money on something you're emotionally tied to and can't evaluate rationally. You'll always lose in the end

For context: The all-nba guards last season.
Shai/Mitchell - 1st team Edwards/Curry/Brunson - 2nd team Cade/Haliburton/Harden - 3rd team and you think Castle is going to be that caliber of player in 3 years? ok

Here's what's frustrating and I know it is for him. He just had the game of his career, showing off every facet of his skillset. We saw the bounce, the change of speed, control, jump shot. Then the next game you show your understanding of the game, Wemby's cooking so sit back and rack up a bunch of assists.
But...you're up 30, just eat the TO and get back to running the offense. Amazing hustle and great block. It's why Spurs fans love him. But it wasn't worth the price he paid. We all feel it when he hits the floor. Seems like at least twice a game and this one may keep him out a week and All Star weekend |

Its wild how many true points get over looked. I wish they broke that down to points and shooting guards. Instead of just buckets. Sent from my SM-S928U using Tapatalk |

Speaking of Cade, since he’s a top guard and MVP candidate, are there conversations on his turnovers? I was comparing the two and I didn’t realize 1) Cade had been in the league that long AND 2) in year 5 he’s consistently been around 3.5/game. Or are Spurs fans just nitpick’y?

I’m still peeved about not picking up a PSA 10 RC of his before the season. I knew with Wemby healthy this team would go far. At this point they look to be the ones winning it all

Tuned into the end of the Spurs and Raptors last night. Castle wasn't in at the end of the game (last 3 minutes or so), outside of defensive substitutions on the last two Raptors possessions. Harper was having a good game but I was surprised to see no Castle in a close game at the end. I don't watch a ton of Spurs so I don't know if Castle/Fox/Harper rotate finishing games.
What is crazy is just how much of a difference Wemby makes out there defensively. This isn't some groundbreaking thought but seeing players pass up what look to be open looks near the basket just because Wemby is nearby is crazy. He had a standing block on Poeltl towards the end that was absolutely huge as well. Toronto's half court being pretty bad didn't help matters either. |
