Yes it was done wonderfully! That's why it had universal hatred from every fan that was there. Because it was amazing! Btw that's not hatred as in I'll come back because I want to see Gunther lose. It's hatred as in we can never get even or ahead because Cena's career is over. I was in the building and there wasn't one person I saw or talked to around me, walking out, or at the postshow that enjoyed it. Again this wasn't good heat. This was go away heat. We were literally chanting we dont care at the postshow. You think people that don't care are going to be going to these shows and paying this big money again anytime soon? Doubtful.

I'm not going to act like I know everything but it's impossible to know nothing when you watch as much as I do and go to as many shows as I have. I've probably already been to more just PPVs and watched wrestling more days than most fans will their entire life.

Just like Lesnar beating Undertaker put him on another level? Lesnar's career would have been the same with or without that win. Time will tell and fan reaction will tell. If this gets the type of fan reaction that like screwing Cody over for Rock did Gunther won't even be in the same spot. He will be worse off. I think he's too good on the mic to let that happen though. I don't think this win helps Gunther at all and even if it does how does it help the WWE? If you actually believe they gain fans and can sell more tickets for more money and not the opposite based on last nights match I think you're insane.

Gunther is one of the most overrated in ring workers of the decade. His 2 best matches were last decade in NXT and NXT UK. Those are his only matches I've ever seen I'd rate 4 1/2 stars or higher. Most of his matches are boring and put me to sleep. I think Gunther has become a great talker. Very underrated talker and very overrated in the ring.

Comparing Oba Femi to Braun Strowman and Ryback tells me you've never watched Oba Femi.

For the record, I want Cena to win, or someone other than Gunther to win against Cena. I don't think that Gunther needs the win either, just like Lesnar doesn't need to break 'Taker's WM streak.
The company chooses to book Gunther win, then they'd better make him even more unstoppable than before.
My comment is strictly based on the result. I'd have similar comment for whoever wins against Cena at SNME yesterday. Simple as that.

Agree to disagree.

Meltzer thinks Jey Uso looked under the influence while being interviewed after SNME, and that it may be related to his being back with Jimmy. He thinks management wasn't happy with him while in the singles title picture for this reason.

Sounds like typical Meltzer trying to connect his own dots opinion and passing it off as fact.

Ummmm apparently people have forgotten the Cody/Jey post show where they were very clearly under the influence of multiple things. This is not new for Jey hence the multiple DUI's and banishment from other countries. Jey is just Jeff Hardy 2.0.

Jimmy is the one with multiple DUI's. Jey has a DWI from 2018.....

That wasn't my point, it's Meltzer saying Jey's drinking 'may' (because he has no idea and is just speculating like always) be why he's with Jimmy again.

I would think it has more to do with him not being able to work a 12 minute match without getting winded halfway through.

I still think the pairing is to just further a story and that it's temporary.

He looked just fine in his match with LA Knight a couple weeks ago, though.

Gunther, most likely. If you thought the Raw after WM with Roman had heat, this one could very well top it. All he has to do is stand there and get cursed out, and now that they're on Netflix there really is no time limit.

Just have him stand there, smiling. Instant heat magnet.

I mean, I'm not agreeing it's why he's tagging again...

But in the clip going around, the interviewr had to basically cut him off after clearly cursing twice, with 1 f bomb...he did appear to be "on something"

Probably!

I'm not sure the correlation of that thought to my post, though.

Looking forward to watching RAW tonight for the first time in a while. Personally I thought that Cena's last match was great but I can see why people are mad about it. Regardless of how anybody feels about it, it's over now and what's done is done. WWE obviously has big plans for Gunther and I'm super interested to see what's next for him.

I think we likely get a 'promo' from Gunther much like what Roman did after beating Undertaker at Wrestlemania. I'm personally more interested to see the follow up in the weeks leading to Rumble. You have the chance to really build up his heel character now, it's on the company to push him strongly.

I think at at the end of the day we'll judge Cena's last match by what happens next with Gunther. If Gunther reaches another level then it will be seen as a passing the torch moment but if Gunther's story fizzles out like Cena's heel turn then people will question why he had to go out with a loss for nothing.

its a funky spot for Gunther

unquestionably a top Heel.....but also a Heel without a faction, not even Imprerium anymore

hes a lot like Mr Perfect in this regard, but Perfect was never a main eventer

unfortunately in a lot of ways Gunther represents that old school heel that was used to help put over the next big stars in mid card. This was the type of guy you'd use to help get Bret Hart over as the new face INC champ

hes on RAW has a top heel, but you also have The Vision.........as the top heels, though you can argue they really only get Heat because of Heyman. Breakerr and even to a lesser extent Reed were getting alot of face pops before the switch to Heyman

you already have Breakerr set to face CM Punk then where does that leave Gunther?

does Lesnar turn face somehow without Heyman and get hotshotted into a feud with Gunther already?

i have a bad feeling Sami Zayn interrupts him tonight and they have another match, something with Zayn trying to defend Cena's honor or something silly...........because honestly Gunther should be being positioned for a top title run and there just isnt a path for that right now

its very strange

Technically, Gunther can win the Rumble and pick Cody instead (if Punk drops the new-WHC belt to Breakker by then), making it de facto Gunther vs. Rhodes II, while freeing up the Raw spot for possibly Roman Reigns to face Breakker.
Will the company go that direction? We'll see.

Gunther in his time on the main roster has never had a reaction like he's getting. It worked.
