I had sent 6 Pokemon cards in. I received a noticed that they weren't able to grade one of the cards. Not sure why. Three of the cards in the submission were from the same promotional pack. Kind of confused about that. So for the other five cards, managed two 10's, two 9's, and one 8.
You should be able to see what code they assigned to it. In my experience, it's usually ALTERED or MINSIZE. Not sure if you do any card prepping but graders are wising up to it.

Just saw the code, N8. Miscut by the manufacturer. That is a strange one. It literally came out the same promo pack as two other cards in the order. And yes, I prep all my orders. I didn't see anything wrong with it. Oh well. I am not getting charged for it. I will take my card back and send it in my CGC order that I have going out next week.

I've had a couple alterned come back and I was indeed charged for it. May just need to resubmit

My account says I will be refunded. It will be resubmitted, but not to PSA. They get one shot in my book.

PSA seems to be taking longer in getting finished slabs back to the store. Usually a few days after grades pop I get a call from the store that my order is ready for pick up.

Eh, I would assume it was due to Thanksgiving and them being busy from their Black Friday sales. I got a grades ready email on Wednesday, then an email that my cards were at my local GameStop on Friday. I still haven't gotten a call yet, but I assume that's because they have been busy. I will give them a call later today to make sure I can pick the cards up tomorrow.

Can someone briefly walk me through what I need to do when subbing through Game Stop? Like, do I just bring the cards in and the paper work and they package everything up, or can I package it up and they just take the box?

Just put the cards in cardsavers and they do everything else...Bring your phone and take a picture of them doing their thing.

Typically is GameStop cheaper than going through a group submitter?

Like someone else responded, just prep the cards and bring them in the semi-rigid holders. If you have a mix of sports and TCG, separate them out into two different stacks. They have to do two different orders as they can't be combined in the same order. When you bring them in, they do all the work. They will spread them out on the counter and use their tablet to take a picture of the front and back of every card. Once complete, they will bag them up and then seal the bag with a label. It's a very easy process, but it can take a bit if you are bringing in a bunch of cards. I try not to go to the GS when it's busy. A line can easily build up behind you if there is only one person working.

2 months is pretty good from drop off to ready for pickup.

really depends on your group submitter and if they're charging a fee on top of the bulk pricing.

if they're just just charging bulk pricing, gamestop is more expensive. however if you want to submit on your own with bulk pricing, you'd have to get a PSA membership which makes it unreasonable (unless you're subbing quite a bit in a year).

the biggest benefit is gamestop's speed, imo. they take about 60 calendar days while PSA takes 60+ business days, which is a massive difference.

10 sports cards per sub. Usually the only Sports sub in my GameStops submission box. I figured it break them up into smaller subs so I can get (hopefully) a different grader for each. Fingers crossed LEGGO!

I will take it. Especially since people who have direct submitted to PSA have been waiting double that time if not longer.

Haha, isn't it almost a given to get all bad graders though anyway? Wait, not funny!

I figured there would be more chances to lose a shipment, but with the shipping only being $5 and the cards I sent were under $500 each, I figured why not. I'm going to assume the "sports" cards coming in from GameStop are going to a different area/grader than those doing TCG anyway so maybe spread the eggs out to different graders would also help.

As the others said, you just bring the cards into GameStop in Card Savers. You don't need to fill out any paperwork, or pack anything up.

I would suggest signing up online for a GameStop account before going, and make sure you include your cell number in the account details. They will add the order to your account using your cell number. When I first signed up, I didn't want any texts, so I used my home phone and left the cell number blank. That caused issues with them looking up my account.

Just picked up my cards. I got the $19.99 refund. Also, I do see why they didn't grade it. It is miscut. Where normal Pokemon cards have the large round corners, one of the corners on the card is way more "square" with a small round corner. When I saw the card I knew right away why it didn't grade.

I did one on 10/14. Last week it went from arrived to grades ready in like 3 days.

I submitted my first GameStop order a few days ago and it's crazy simple; no need to have a PSA membership, especially if the turnaround times are much faster.

I just wish you could do crossovers and grade reviews through them.
