Default 2025 Topps Star Wars Chrome Galaxy

Anyone interested in this? The card design looks decent as well as the "Layers" original art cards. Only one auto per case though . But 3 sketches per case is decent.

It's up for pre-order today at 12pm.

Yikes! The odds were much better for autos and parallels in 2025 Topps Chrome Star Wars.

That's 3,500 cases made. With 5 EQL case winners.

I hope the parallels don't drown out the card art.
X-Fractor parallels are nice but last year some of the images aren't visible.
Just another lazy design decision by Topps.

My favorite product for Star Wars for sure. I didn't open any chrome so I ordered 10 boxes of this. Wasn't able to get in on a full case as the option didn't load and by the time i completed the box purchase the cases were gone.

Hmm. All I'm seeing are case breaks. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place?

Sounds like you might be looking on the Fanatics Live app.
This drop is on the regular Fanatics app.

I got 4 boxes in the Fanatics drop this morning. First time I was ever selected in a product drop over there. Probably won’t try for any on Topps but just a reminder that it goes live in 15 minutes.

They asked sketch artists to do a lot for this set. I know I did the most I've done for a single SW set in over a decade.

This is good insight.
So, Topps says something like, "Are you willing to accept this project with XXX amount of sketch cards needed." - And if you say, "No. I can only draw YYY amount of sketch cards," then they may pass on the artist?

Topps will probably pull it, I mean "sell out" in an hour or so.
Can't have a $250 box sitting up like that.

I'll be posting them all to my Facebook page tonight (I'm easy to find). They'll be made public so anybody can check them out. All of my sketch cards are there in public albums, feel free to creep around.

Correct. But that's the same for any set. They almost always have a minimum quantity, usually 30-50, but for this one they asked for more. I know artists will apply for less and get their wish, and that's why you'll see some AMAZING artists only have like 10 sketch cards in a set.

There are also cases where after you send your commitment they may ask for more. I'm doing that for a set right now (can't say what, though). My guess is in that instance it may be because some artists didn't fulfill their commitment or they had a large number of rejections.

It's obvious they really printed a crapton of this product this year.

None of the artists that created art for the base cards in this release are listed under this release's sketch card artists.

None of the base set artists created art specifically for this set. It’s all “original art” but was made for something else

Joe Corroney posted that he did 15 new images for the Galactic Inspirations subset, not sure if they're inserts or part of the base. He also did a 9-card Skeleton Crew puzzle.

Curious, did any of the past Galaxy sets get base set art commissioned specifically for it?

I don’t think so. Only the insert sets

Yes, lots of them between Galaxy 4-6.

^^^Since the inception of Galaxy Chrome, most of the cards have been a simple chrominization of older Galaxy cards. As each year goes now we are seeing more “non-galaxy” but still not original inserts.

Dang… you have to go all the way back to Galaxy 4-6? Now that’s a Galaxy far, far away!
