Does this insane contract finally put Schwarber on a future hall of fame ballot?

I thought the (probably AI generated) Cincinnati rumor would have helped more.

It gets him on the ballot. He needs to basically repeat his output the next five years to get in the Hall.

Good for the Schwarbino to the Hall fans. I still think he needs 600 home runs which is possible, to make it in easily. Probably gonna need a World Series in there for the 500-599 career to make it sooner rather than later. Ultimately, 500 is going to be hard to argue against

It's great to know he'll be wearing a Phillies hat when he enters the Hall.

Good for Schwarber, classic Dombrowski signing.

Schwarber signed through his age-33 to age-37 seasons is a dicey proposition. But he is coming off his best season yet, so maybe he'll age more similarly to Jim Thome -- who knows.

Schwarber has had a career defying some of the standard markers of success. He gets on base, hits bombs, and is a fun guy to watch!

We'll always have 2016. But hey, 2005 wasn't bad, either.

I'm a Cubs fan, but I really don't mind seeing the Sox do well. I've never really felt animosity towards the South Side like I do for the Cards or Brewers.

Do Sox fans hate the Cubs more than their Central rivals?

The Cubs-Sox thing started less than 30 years ago anyway.

I was hoping the Orioles would have nabbed him. Looks like he finishes his career as a Philly.

As long as he continues at close to this pace he should be in the HOF.

Harold Baines is in.

Sounds like they offered 5 years/$125M with incentives for possibly more. That's a pretty serious offer.

If the reds had signed him, he would’ve hit 50 to 60 Home runs a year in that ballpark. Would’ve been a good usage of their money since they never spend on players, and currently they have about 6 to 7 guys that hit 15 to 20 Home runs a year. At some point they need to get a veteran big bat in that lineup.
