I'm amazed at the sales numbers on that. I would of settled at 75% . The 50% offer is not even a serious offer really

Hard to believe, but the area I live in (Sarasota/Bradenton/Lakewood Ranch) is not a cheap area to live in. It is not West Palm Beach, Naples or the Keys, but compared to most of the rest of the state, it is expensive. The catch is that the majority of the jobs in this area are in the service/hospitality sectors (this is Florida after all ), which don't pay very much.

I dated a girl in college who told me her family had money. I thought she meant like they didn't have to wait until payday to buy stuff money. No, I went to a "party" at one of their farm properties. She told me to dress nice. For me at the time, that meant khakis and a nice button up shirt. I got there and all her parent's friends had on very expensive suits. They had "employees" that walked around dressed in very fancy clothing to serve the guests. I was completely out of my element.

They owned several peach orchards in Edgefield County and were family friends with the Thurmond family going back who knows how long. The father said the land had been in his family since "before Sherman burned stuff to the ground". They had a building full of expensive cars that nobody drove. They were for show.

When he asked what my parents did, I could tell from his reaction that his daughter didn't have the say on who she dated. It wasn't long after that when she told me she didn't think things would work out.
