Although the phone companies don’t like it. When I had to get my new one, they didn’t want to take cash. They said it had to be financed or put on a credit card. When I told them I wasn’t financing it and didn’t own a credit card and could just take my business elsewhere they started changing their tune.

And you forget I live in a very expensive area. If I made what I do now and lived in your area of SC, I'd live like a king. Almost one paycheck of mine alone goes to my mortgage thanks to the high interest rate when we moved.

My government customer sent me to a great Citrix conference in San Francisco back in 2011. I did some railfanning in Fullerton, went to an A's game, and saw the outside of AT&T Park (too bad the Giants were out of town).

Also did Fisherman's Wharf, boat trip around the harbor, Fort Mason, Crissy Field, Coit Tower, a cable car ride, Ghirardelli Chocolate Experience, and Fort Point National Historic Site.

Hard to believe, but people in cheap areas make less money while those in expensive areas make more.

I used to tell drivers when they pulled into some of the small rural towns that they were the highest paid employees in the area.

We have been to 7 spring training games to include home parks of the Tigers, Yankees, and Blue Jays and only one game did I pay $100 or more and that was the 1st spring training game at Dunedin to sit front row next to the Blue Jays dugout so FT JR could try and get autographs. Every other game, I spent less and still had great seats.

Should've stayed where you were. You wouldn't live like a king down here, the old money makes sure nobody comes into their space. You'd live like some of us do, comfortable but still have to deal with idiots.

I'd have even less money in MD with the out of control taxes.

I'd really like to explore that move to Georgia that the middle SD talked about a few years ago. I brought that up on Thanksgiving and she said her husband could still transfer to that Army Fire Department since they still had openings. .
