My thought is, as all 8 have a reasonable argument, any of them could get in. I don't think any of them have a 90% chance but I do think the recent run with the Blue Jays has sentiment and attention on Mattingly's side.

That being said, the chances of who gets in depends largely on who is in the room and who has the most persuasive voice in the room. They will examine all 8 players very thoroughly and that means the momentum could swing toward any player. I just want them to elect someone (preferably 2), and I while I have my personal biases, I'd be happy just seeing someone get in so it clears up space for others.

I was a bigger fan of Mattingly, Delgado, and Murphy so those would be my personal favorites. But if they decided to induct Kent, good. I'm cool with that too.

I really hope we get at least one or two people announced as inductees today. It's going to be a huge letdown if this thing is all for nothing. Any of the eight people on the ballot would be very deserving, in my humble judgement. Imagine if it ends up being Bonds and Clemens.

Thanks, looking forward to see what happens. Seems to be sentiment and impact of the game during that era will have precedence here. Many of them fit that mark. Kent would be the least exciting in my opinion and I'm a Giants fan. Sheffield would be a close second. Everyone else would be exciting with a couple epic choices.

There is a presidential push for Clemens (not Bonds, unsurprisingly). It would be beyond comical if this influenced the process and Clemens was inducted and Bonds was not.
