They did....but the top 4 this year are a true top 4. Last year it was the 4 highest conference champs regardless of where they fell in the CFP rankings.

Agreed—they have overwhelming talent on both sides of the ball. Outside of Week 1, they haven’t been challenged until today. Day really struggles in close games for sure.
