We were spoiled for so long. You can draft better, trade players, release players, fire coaches managers and GMs.
Can't fire the owner.

And not pay Trent Grisham $22 million a year!

I really think Hal is just an idiot. To claim we shouldn't assume the Yankees are always making money is laughable. If he's not able to make money running the Yankees, then cash out for 10B and let someone else do it better.

Goodbye Devin Williams. The Mets seem to like picking up Yankees players who had rough years (Williams and Holmes) and of course Soto after a good one. Too bad they didn't offer Grisham a contract to get him off our hands.

Are Mets fans enjoying the constant stream of former Yanks? Genuine question.

Question,Now that Devin I will not shave my beard Williams is gone should the no beard policy return. I personally have a beard but if I was a player and a storied franchise such as the Yankees signed me I would gladly shave it. Most of today’s generation probably think it’s an idiotic policy especially in today’s times but I think it made the Yankees unique. Sucks the policy went away for a player that didn’t deserve that standard.

The Yankees traditions have already been destroyed with the Nike logo on the jersey, Hal putting the dumb insurance company patch on the jersey, the MLB putting advertisements on the Yankee batting helmets in the playoffs, the multi color cleats/arm guards/shin guards/belts, and the no beard policy. They might as well get some city connect jerseys next.

Yes, but you're missing what's important, Hal making more money while claiming the team doesn't return a profit.

Some George Steinbrenner quotes,

When you're entrusted with a tradition, you've got to protect it.

As I've always said, the way New Yorkers back us we have to produce for them. —

My favorite,

Irabu is a fat, pu--y toad.

I know what you are trying to say and it shouldn’t make a difference how one performs but it does change the attitude of players watching how a rule can get changed to sign a player who sucked anyway.

We all miss George but in reality the dynasty was built in the years he was suspended.

Not only the Yankees but other teams with the MLB putting that advertisement on every playoff teams helmets. There truly are no more untouchable traditions for the most part.

You know Grisham is expected to come back to earth if the Mets didn’t make an offer.

If Hal expects us to believe he isn’t making a profit with the Yankees he must be one of the worst owners in the league.

Not sure I saw Hal once at a game last year. I saw the daughter many times.

Things started going downhill when they put numbers on the backs of the players. It went from a team sport to “look at meeee!” It was a tasteless money grab to market the players above the team. It’s never been the same since.

Grisham is going to come back to earth no matter what. Cashman gambled and lost.

I'm actually surprised "poor" Hal hasn't gotten rid of just numbers and added the players names so they can make millions more from new jersey sales.

It’s nowhere near as bad as the NBA jersey situation, so at least we can be thankful for that, for now…

Reports are that Rodon should be back to the rotation late April/early May.

The problem is Hal uses the Yankees to make money while the Mets and Dodgers are used as a hobby. He needs to sell the team.
